Did Jacksonville get some snow?
Where I live in Ohio it was -5 last week. Kids got 2 days off school because of how cold it was. Must be a newer thing, I don't remember ever having days off school because it was too cold.

Growing up in Kansas, temperature was never a consideration for school closures. It can get pretty damned cold in Kansas during the winter.

It is, because yeah, I remember trudging through snow to get to the bus stop, waiting 30 minutes past scheduled time, walking back home, mom advising that busses are delayed but should be there in the next 15 minutes, and telling her baloney (although I didn't say baloney), I ain't going back in that crap cuz nobody's going to be in school anyway.

I lived in the country, so the bus picked me up at my house. Was the most miserable experience every single day. We lived basically the furthest you could possibly live from the school bordering the other county. I was the first to get picked up and the last to be dropped off, about a 75 minute ride each way. Snowy days just extended it, very miserable lol
oh, the good ole days of growing up in Pittsburgh waiting at the bus stop for an hour before a parent finally comes down to tell you they announced school was cancelled due to snow. we used to listen to the listings of delays and cancellations praying our school would be announced on the list.
never got cancelled due to low temperatures and rarely got cancelled due to snow and ice.
