Heard he's interested in bringing over Chip Kelly as OC. Former Oregon coach, Eagles coach, one time 49ers coach and current Ohio St. OC, or, he's looking at Jake Pete, curring passing game coordinator with the Seahawks to be his OC.

While the Bucs did have a great run game, what I thought was special was their usage out of the backfield in the receiving game. Etienne and Tank are virtually zeroes there.

Considering how good this RB class is I'd be shocked if we didn't draft one in the middle rounds.
Not overly excited about this hire personally. Would have had him maybe 4th at best behind Johnson, Moore, Flores & Brady.

Time will tell. The main thing is figuring out who and how the defense will be coached now and how the structure of the front office will work personnel management wise.

Good job Khan on missing out on Johnson. Yet another critical mistake. No wonder the league likes the Khan man, it’s an automatic win plus a farm for players

Seems like a good alternative if we can reach a critical mass of posters.

Congrats on your new coach. I thought Doug would be the one to get you over the hump. But, oh well.

I hope Liam gets you there, Iron sharpens iron.

And the board was down the entire time…..

Get your morning posts in now everyone because it’ll be down shortly.

Also. LETS GO LIAM COEN!

Yeah, anyone know what's going on with this message board?  Anyone?

Admin Trent Baalke told me that it's Doug Pederson's fault. If only he hadn't given code access to Press Taylor we would've avoided all this.
I'm glad we got a young offensive mind in Coen per Lawerence's stated preference for such a guy. I'm not personally "excited" or "despondent" about any specific hire at this stage though, including Coen. I probably would have been modestly excited had we landed Vrabel, though. This could blow up spectacularly or could prove to be just what the doctor ordered. I'll wait to see how it plays out starting in September.

I'm concerned about the GM spot though. We went from historically being terrible at drafting to somewhat average during Baalke's tenure. Baalke had by far his best draft move of his career last year by trading back and still landing BTJ, which probably saved him at season's end, but ultimately wasn't enough given the circumstances. There's no guarantee that whoever we bring in doesn't take us back to our historically bad drafting habits is all. Baalke had to go though given the prevailing perception about him not only amongst fans but apparently amongst the coaching ranks as well. Khan, who probably still disagrees with that perception, really had no choice staring at the prospect of being rejected by two top offensive minds during this coaching cycle and thereby being forced to hire a guy that was not preferred with the understanding he'd probably be doing this whole thing again in a year or two as a result.

Khan being hands off has its advantages, sure, but I'm starting to wonder if he's too hands off. Is he or Tony mingling enough or mingling at all with opposing coaches and front office staff during league meetings for instance? I get the sense he may not be and that type of activity is important to building relationships within the league for future openings that might occur here.

Anyway, let's hope this all works out for Trevor's sake and for our sake as fans.

Damn, you made me spit my coffee out of my nose, lol.
Still no official announcement?

His Lack of experience does concern me.  I do look at coaches like Tomlin and Demeco Ryans as young first time head coaches who are getting it right!

Nice site.   Looks like there isn't a Political Section which I think is key for getting many others from this site over to there.  I mean, what is Drifter supposed to do when there's no place to post fox news articles.

Also need an General Discussion Section

Welcome to Jax. Mr. Coen.

NH3...
uh seems like its gone
Yeah, I don't feel good about this guy.

Being a good/great OC doesn't mean you will be a good HC.
He gives me Arthur Smith vibes because of his personality. Some guys are not meant to be HC's, they are better as a coordinator and not the man in charge.
We'll see I guess... Hopefully he at least helps Trevor and gives us a good offense.

Imo Flores or McCarthy would do better here imo.
Could go anyway. I welcome him though. Need a fresh mind here. The most interesting stats here that stands out with his work in TB was the team lead the league in 3rd down percentage completion and 4th in red-zone scoring percentage. Looking forward to seeing our numbers improve with those two in particular.
