The players got screwed in the last CBA and a lockout for 2021 is a real possibility. I hope the owners will be willing to give up some serious concessions and Goodell will be willing to give up final say on player discipline, otherwise the fans will suffer if this comes to pass.
Watch everybody come out in favor of the owners, then rag on the players for agreeing to another cba that likely will be to their detriment.
The biggest thing wrong with it was the god powers Goodell granted himself.
Attallah(sp?) said article 46 was the one being abused, but that it wasn't a new provision and had not ever been abused in years past.
Well that's not really a surprise, but good luck to the players.
The drastic increases in salaries over the years is going to prevent such lockouts.
In the past, people were foregoing $2 million per year to hold out ..... by 2021, the average salary will be over $15 m so they'll work out a deal -- as long as players are getting paid well, they'll accept other terms that are not so favorable.
$$ talks
And increased ticket prices. Has anyone thought about a fan owned league? ;-)
What both sides better realize is in this era of the Internet and other high tech options, many people are going to change their TV viewing habits if multiple regular season games aren't played in 2021. Assuming that the vast majority of fans will come back anytime soon, if ever, would be a huge mistake. The world of 1982 and 1987 is a distant memory.
There will never be another lockout. Ever. It just won't happen.

If common sense prevails, you will be proven correct. It's a BIG IF though.
