Quote:I don't think people would be saying it if it weren't for the masses saying he's already looking like a combination of Von Miller/Khalil Mack or that "Dante Fowler is not human" and the like.
Just some pushback against the absolutely absurd expectations and proclamations about the guy before he had even had a snap against someone not on his own team.
Everyone needs to simply chill with the superlatives in either direction for a while.
in Fowler's defense, it was what, 2 or 3 attempts in practice? If he still has room to grow hopefully, his fan comments are warranted. The Debbie downers just use his hiccups as examples like every good/great player always gets to the qb from day 1. Let him get a game plan or film time, and then if he continues to look confused in the joint practice or games, I'll think more of your opinion on this subject.
Quote:Take the worst NFL team and put them up against the "best" college team and it won't even be a close game.
Actually the college all stars used to play an NFL all star team and the pros were not always the victors. (Of course the game was significantly different then.)

Well look who's up for a fight.. a healthy squabble. Must got some wallah
A couple of things I've read about yesterday.
Both teams agree that the Jags defense "won" the joint practice.
And on the radio, they mentioned Telvin continue to struggle against the pass.Aside from the types ball,he was a liability.
Quote:Telling? Telvin?
Yeah that last sentence makes no sense.
On another note, it was nice to see our defense come up with turnovers and our offense have none. Especially against another team and new looks. ARob continuing to do ARob things. And that route by Greene was awesome.
Yes, Telvin... Corrected my typo

Yep, he's unfairly been put under a microscope.
I've maintained that we should consider his contribution "gravy." Zero expectations. Folks had high expectations for him when drafted, and that's been magnified by having to wait an entire season to see him.
I didn't like picking him that high, but those expecting the world from him or waiting with baited breath for him to fail are both out of bounds.
The guy is still learning his position in the NFL, on top of recovering from injury. Let it play out. It would be a different story if he lit the league up for a year or two before getting hurt. He was hurt before he even got started. He will need time.

Pretty much agreed. I expect a 5-7 sack season, with some flashes of dominance. Great edge rushers need experience, so it will definitely take time.
Because we still have Ryan Davis and Skuta, I still think we can get production from the edge, with sack numbers being spread around. I think we will be top half of the league in sacks and hopefully pressures, but I see one of the bigger guys being the sack leader for this team (Odrick, Jackson). That sack against the Jets, caused by interior push, will happen often.

Dotson beats Fowler both match ups. Smith beats Ngakoue in both match ups. Malik Jackson wins both of his Pamphile.
