it's OK.
Quote:What OL depth are you getting from Marks? People aren't just giving away a good OL for someone that we would potentially cut in that scenario.
Yea if Marks is trading it will be for a draft pick, not for some trash OL guy

Yeah. This is probably the first time it's happened...EVER.

Especially during the off-season. Leading up to Free Agency and the Draft....nothing but facts.
Quote:@alexmarvez As referenced by @MarkdominikESPN, on @SIRIUSXM NFL, @Jaguars so deep at some spots (DL/TEs) team hopes to trade depth at end of preseason
Hmmmmmm interesting.
At TE I don't see where it's really possible unless we're talking Marcedes Lewis. I kind of doubt a trade scenario for him based on his age and current contract.
At DL the only possibility that stands out is Alualu. He's only listed once on the current depth chart and would be the only one that might have some trade value. Behind him on the depth chart (at DE) is Marks, but Marks is also listed in the second string (DT) behind a rookie. I can't see giving up versatility and depending on a rookie to last throughout the season.

Agreed on Alualu. Until recently after realizing Woodard is on the PUP and that there is no other backup strongside DE on the roster, I had Alualu landing on the waiver wire. It now looks like he's making the roster to provide depth behind Odrick, but I certainly wouldn't shed a tear if he fails to do so. Sen'Derrick Marks is easily a better player than Tyson Alualu, and Michael Bennett for that matter, and Marks should be kept over either unless they are able to find some draft comp for him.
I heard Gus mention that they are cross-training some of the 3-Techs at the big end spot, specifically mentioning Marks. I get the sense that they like both young guys in Bennett and Day. It would not surprise me to see them move Marks or one of the young guys into a rotational role with Odrick. Alualu is going to have competition for that role.

It should be clear. His/her threads are "simple to this one".

Yes, but I am interested in knowing the degree of which his thread was simple to this one.

yea yea yea.. Phone typo.. Continue...
I agree with Pirkster. He's had some moments. Has played better than some other players we've drafted that high and couldn't possibly be more underwhelming than Matt Jones whose feet turned to concrete after the combine.

What I respect about him, and probably what's kept him around, is that he always seems to be working hard.
He gets flattened, and he gets back up and gives 110% on the next play.
If we were down big and the rest of the team was giving their half effort, he was still giving 110%. Every play.
He's also played hurt, where some folks can't seem to stay on the field.
Complain about the pick all you want, I get it. Regardless, the player still earns my respect.

Nah, he had his big games and moments too. I believe against Oakland and Baltimore.
Talent wasn't the problem.

Agreed 100%.
Alualu gets a whole lot of dumb hate around here, simply because of where he was drafted. Was he over drafted? Yes he probably was, but we'll never know what kind of player he actually could have been after that knee injury his rookie year.
Like you said, the guy played on a bum knee basically his entire first 2 seasons. I might be wrong, but didn't he get micro fracture surgery after his 2nd season?
I know he had some sort of knee surgery (I'm pretty sure it was a microfracture, but I'm too lazy to look it up to make sure), yet hes still never missed a game in his entire NFL career.
Add that onto the lack of talent he had around him, before the new front office came aboard and rebuilt. Also add in the position hes played over the past couple of seasons. The Big End which isn't a sexy number popping position regardless.
Alualu is a pros pro, to the fullest extent. I guarantee you he's very well respected among a whole lot of people/players in the NFL. He is what at least 80% of the NFL is made up of. The guys who aren't the super stars, they aren't in the lime light and they don't make the record breaking contract $$. Yet they never complain about what their role is. They'll do whatever they're told to do and they'll do it at an absolute 100+%, every single chance they get.
alualu also always played with crap at the end positions and the back 7 so even if he was doing well the talent around him allowed the offense to double him more often than not. I could see him leaving us and being a better player elsewhere. i actually like the guy healthy or not he gives 110 and never says a bad word.
