I don't get all the love around here.  Yes he's fast, but that's where it ends for him as a running back.  He's got no moves, no wiggle, can't break a tackle even against players that won't make the 53.  I'll probably get some hate here, but I said it last year and I'm saying it again, I've watched football for a long time, he doesn't have it.  If they think KO returner is solely important enough to keep him, that's his only shot.  I believe that's why they played him so much last night, to see if he's got it as a RB.  He doesn't.

KR is the only reason we keep him. It's not like he's taking snaps away from Yeldon/Ivory.

He's good for the odd swing pass too I guess.  I'd way rather keep DRob.

Unless Jonas Gray gets out on the field soon, then Grant's job is looking safer and safer.

We will most likely keep both, we wont have a FB so 4 HBs
In that case, keep Jonas Gray.

He'll make the team. One of the RBs will be "injured" and put on IR, probably him.

IIRC, Greene ran back a kickoff in the scrimmage, and did it well. Being a kickoff returner won't save Grant's job. But you hate to give up on someone that fast, and he has decent hands as a receiver out of the backfield. He also made some blocks, so he's not totally worthless in that role.

You're gonna be in so much trouble...
The possibilities of him returning one to the house during 2016/2017 garnishes a potential roster spot...

NH3...
This thread is pure blasphemy.

Corey is a huge weapon to have available, and is set to be a tremendous scat back. Corey picks up 10 yards like it's nothing over and over again, and often he'll break one to go the distance. So what if he doesn't break double team tackles... he's a scat back. Do you even know what a scat back is?

He picks up 10 yards like it's nothing, in your head. How many did he get yesterday? What was his ypc, tackles broken, etc? He is charmingly finesse, and just not very good. Your unjustified infatuation with him doesn't help his very average output thus far. If you hoped he'll eventually become decent, fair enough. But falsely lauding him...
Al Davis syndrome.

He had 5 touches for 32 yards. That isn't bad for a 3rd string back and far more productive than D-Rob was last night.
he is a gimmick player with a role, every team could use a guy with his speed even if it is only for 2-4 plays a game.

I think this is accurate!

3 rushes for 9 yards against backups and roster casualties.

Last year 6 carries for 2 yards and a devastating lost fumble.

Hey, he's showing improvement!

Kidding aside, I'm not focusing on a small sample size of stats, I'm using my eyes.
It was 3 rushes... And with a turnstile offensive line.  The overreaction is real.  Adrian Peterson had preseason games with 3 yards per carry against backups when he was a rookie.

Corey Grant isn't a rookie, but yeah, you can't learn all that much from what he did last night besides "he's still really fast."
