Interesting article using some crazy analytics.

Hope Blake ends up like McNabb. I think Blake balls out but obviously others don't....
Hence, the reason Barnwell is making $50,000 per year writing internet blogs for ESPN and Caldwell is making $4.2 million per year as the Jags GM.

The first half makes some okay points. The rest is all based on the moronic QBR stat.
Hopefully Blake will continue to improve and the Offensive Line gives him the time he needs to be a more efficient pocket passer, specifically on short to intermediate passes. He needs to get a lot better with accuracy on those routes. I think he will, and having a bit more run support will definitely help that cause. it was promising to see him hit the fade route to Thomas in the scrimmage!

This. QBR is just ridiculous.

The 3.whatever for the Colts game just proves that. People say the td pass to Hurns was telegraphed and poorly timed. Yet if Blake was Rodgers or Brady, they'd talk about how he threaded the needle with a perfectly placed ball.
What the hell did I just read? Did he really take easy touchdowns away from Blake and say it was the defenses fault for not reacting quicker? What a tool. I stopped reading after that. Sounds like a hack.
Who the hell is Bill Barnwell?

QBR is an invention of ESPN. Nobody knows what the hell is means, and nobody else uses it.

ESPN has made up a lot of dumb metrics, but this one is by far the dumbest IMO.

The "clutch factor" alone allows them to tailor it to a QB they want to look better.
QBR is bad, but Bortles was also average by the good analytics like DVOA and ANY/a too. He needs to, and can, get better for us to take the next step. That's not really a controversial statement.

Read it before and then read it after you do meth.  It makes much more sense afterwards.

From the article:

5. This one’s my favorite: The all-time best game in QBR history was when Charlie Batch (!!!) beat Tampa in early 2010. Here’s Batch’s stat line for that game (oh, I love this so much): 12/17, 186 yards, 10.9 avg, 3 TD, 2 INT, 106.5 rating, 99.9 QBR, all in a game in which the Steelers won 38-13! Two interceptions! A blowout! A QB rating that was nice but hardly anything special! And that was almost perfect according to QBR.

That was a pretty good read.
Give this man a running game.
