Did Putin have Assad use chemical weapons so Trump could act shocked, shocked! and look tough by launching a very, very benign missile attack in order to change his image and to get the whole "Russians helped Trump during the campaign" off the front pages?

There's a lot we don't know. Maybe the point was not to send a message to Assad, but to send a message to other countries that the US will not sit by passively any more. Having other leaders afraid that Trump's dangerous isn't all bad. It worked with Reagan and the hostages, it worked with Gaddafi. There are a lot of pundits saying that this puts pressure on China to straighten out North Korea before we nuke it.

Trump now says, "No, we aren't going in." Tillerson and the other neo-cons Trump has appointed say "Regime change imminent".. idk.
There are rumors that the missile strike had something to do with Ivanka being bothered by the pictures of the victims of the attack. Umm, what? That's our basis for bombings now? How does Ivanka feel? Please send this woman back to Trump tower and get her out of the White House.
I dont like it and 80% of the people who voted Trump in dont want this interventionist mentality that has been status quo from both parties.
My main concern is who trump has surrounded himself with and guys like Bannon and Flynn getting ousted. Trump voters liked Flynn and Bannon, not warhawks like McMaster and Tillerson.

Many of Trump voters, at least half I'd say, aren't happy with Trump's response for many reasons.
