Full Version: Obama says elections are local, cannot be "rigged"

Obama appeared befuddled by the GOP presidential nominee's declaration when asked about it during a press conference at the Pentagon.

“I don’t even really know where to start on answering this question,” he said. “Of course the elections will not be rigged. What does that mean?”

Obama pointed out that elections are run by state and local authorities
— which are run by Republicans and Democrats alike — and not the federal government.

“If Mr Trump is suggesting a conspiracy theory that is being propagated across the country ... that’s ridiculous,” the president said.

The very next day:

According to a NY Times article, the Obama administration wants DHS to run our electronic ballot casting system
. DHS wants to classify our election process as “critical infrastructure."

If Obama really wanted to protect the election against "cyber attacks", he should demand we go back to paper ballots.

Says the guy who specialized in "community organizing" in order to do exactly that.  Stuff ballots and execute fraud at the polls.  I suppose since they are now defunct, people have conveniently forgotten ACORN.

That was when he wasn't using lawyers to force his competition to be disqualified/quit in order to "win" a Senate seat.

Or beat Hillary in 2008.

Pattern of behavior.

Elections can absolutely be rigged.  We've seen the irregularities in electronic tallying of votes that was done intentionally by manipulating the code that captures all of the metrics.  Obama knows this to be true, yet he wants to pawn it off like some grand conspiracy theory.  It's what he does.  As pirk has shown above, if anyone knows about the methods to rig an election, the community organizer would be the guy.

Now, that being said, Trump already starting up the 'rigged' talk is a little ridiculous.

Bernie supporters should be able to sympathize... that is if they haven't also sold out

Really?  The leaked DNC emails show they absolutely rigged the primaries.  An independent study concluded Bernie had 8 primary states stolen and should have won the nomination.  The collusion by the DNC and AP right before the California primary was a criminal act, meant to disenfranchise millions of voters.

FBT, what would be the better time to claim the election is rigged?  Now, or during Hillary's coronation?

Incidentally, a young healthy fellow named Shawn Lucas served papers to the DNC on July 3 for a class-action lawsuit regarding the rigged primaries.  He was found dead on August 3.

There's no question the democrat primaries were rigged to assure the coronation of Hillary.  The email paper trail confirms that beyond any shadow of a doubt.  And there is certainly a strong probability that what happened in the primaries will carry over to the general election as democrats canvas cemeteries from coast to coast registering voters.  Still, I think Trump should have let his underlings run with the "rigged" stuff, and he should have started working on getting back on message.  That kind of talk is beneath the nominee.

I saw the report about Lucas, and it comes on the heels of a DNC staffer being murdered, Seth Rich, who was reported to be a whistleblower inside the DNC.  He was tasked with investigating voter fraud and vote suppression during the democratic primaries.  He was shot and killed on the street.  Nothing was taken from him.  It looked like a hit.

It's funny how those who challenge the Clinton mafia tend to have unusual demises, isn't it?

I was never a Trump supporter, but it was clear very early on that he was inevitably going to win the nomination because he tapped into the anger and frustration a lot of Americans feel toward their government today.  He wasn't the best choice in the GOP field.  He wasn't even the 5th or 6th best option in a field of 17.  But, he's the nominee.  Either he needs to start acting like it, or it's reasonable to question whether he was serious about winning or not from the get go.  Whether he was when he embarked on this thing or not, he'd darn sure better be now because the alternative is just unacceptable.  The level of corruption and scandal that swarms around the Clinton family like flies around a pile of dung is alarming, especially knowing that there's the potential for blackmail thanks to her sloppy security or because Bill can't keep lil' Bill in his pants.  There's clearly influence peddling and quid pro quo that's been going on through the family slush fund, er, charity.  The woman sits in front of a camera on a daily basis and always tells at least one whopper.  She's a pathological liar.  If you want to talk about rigging an election, where's the media in covering the real campaign instead of trying to prop her up as some savior?
That's just it.  The media won't cover the stolen primaries but they WILL cover whatever comes out of Trump's mouth.

I think we need to stop trying to get Trump to "act like a Presidential candidate".  He is what he is.  He's essentially the people's hand grenade and we shouldn't complain about all the goo on the walls when he blows up the status quo.  Like that ex-Republican said in his letter, better "boorish and uncouth" Trump than any of the slick-talking hucksters from either party that have colluded against the American people for so long.

And now, a word from the President...
