Full Version: TJ Watt anyone?

Long time lurker, I tend to just browse posts oppose to creating them... but one player I haven't seen much discussion about would be TJ Watt... how would you guys feel about him in the 2nd? Would complete our young LB Corp of smith-jack-watt...I for one, would love the addition of TJ Watt. I know the need is OL, but I believe we can snag a good OL in the 3rd/4th... Or even pick one up with the additional 2nd (if we trade back in the 1st of course)
I don't think he's making it to the 2nd round. He's one of my favorite players in the draft. I got a chance to see him on more than one occasion last year thanks to the Big Ten Network and he was unstoppable. As long as we get an OG before we take him, I'd be ecstatic with him on the team.

I like him but I don't like him more than others we can get at 4. In a trade back scenario I could see it more likely.

The brother connection doesnt mean much to me. We've seen brothers before and one is good and one is bad. Gronks/Carrs come to mind, but I do think that TJ Watt has the skills to not just be a name.

I'm kind of hoping we move DFJ to LB.

I was/am in the camp that thinks Biegel looks better than Watt in cutups. Watt beats TE and RB when he is matched up against them, but struggles against tackles. That athleticism though...I like banking on that. I think Rivers is better than Watt right now and is also an elite athlete, but I'd be happy with either at 35. I do think his athleticism and work ethic could turn him into something special.

I don't think anyone is considering Watt at 4. He's talking top of the second. If Watt is there at the top of the second I'd love the pick.

Personally, I don't even take into consideration that he's J.J.'s brother. Like you said, plenty of brothers over the years have proven that one can be bad and the other can be bad. In this case, I believe T.J. is the real deal.
I really like Watt and  Biegel. This Pass rush class is really deep.

I like watt but I think there will be too much talent sliding down to our 2nd round pick that has higher value than watt.
I got to see only 2 or 3 Wisconsin games, but he was everywhere making plays. I don't expect him to be like his brother, but I think he can turn into a really good player.
Not at #4 (as others have stated).

However, managing to land him later in the 1st or with the 2nd rd pick?

Yup. I'd be happy with that.
