And banned for what? Having a different opinion than yours? Politics much?

I talked about other candidates and yet brought back to this. And where I did that was in a Fournette thread.

So no take ya personal vendetta or agenda and shove it. There is a ignore button. I have used it on several posters.

I can add ya to that list. No problem.

Quote:Love this turn out.

Allen at 8 is a steal imo. IDK why so many people have him sliding.

Njoku is getting a lot of love lately. If he's there at 35, yes.

And grabbing a mid round RB and a FB late  after adding interior linemen is a beautiful plan.

Couple PS guys late and we're now drafting like a team that should be able to win.

It's not so much that he's sliding as much as he's getting edged out by teams with other needs. The one team that really scares me before the #8 is at #7 with the Chargers because they can totally use Jonathan Allen. However, the Chargers are Gus Bradley's team, and as much as he would love to have Allen, I feel that he'd want Malik Hooker even more. I say this recalling a video where Caldwell is explaining how tough it's been for them to find the right FS over the years. In this case, Bradley will have his key FS in place right off the bat. I'm just convinced that Gus is drooling for Hooker over any other player. That said, should another team prior to the Chargers take Hooker... such as the Titans, but they have a pretty good FS in place and are desperate at CB... then the Chargers are taking Allen for sure.

Now, should the Chargers take Allen instead of Hooker, then the Jaguars are basically deciding between Hooker and OJ Howard.

Quote:I really dont think Carolina would trade with us for fournette, Id get the feeling they would think we want him and move ahead of us. But who knows, thats really all a matter what info is exchanged amongst GMs. I have no idea how those phone calls go.

Caldwell would need to make the call, and it would have to be a trade worked out ahead of the draft.

Remember any trade offer we could potentially receive would be offered to the tacks before us.
Quote:He has power and nothing else. Speed means nothing if constantly tripped up at the line.

Show me the plays he excells against good teams with out his full back leading the way?

Cause both Petterson and Jackson. Could make something out of nothing.

He's a beast.
Quote:The Panthers entire coaching staff was at Fournette's workout, and it's been reported that they've begun preliminary talks with the 49ers on a potential trade. Realizing he'd lose Fournette anyways, I can see Caldwell giving the Panthers a call. Afterall, a move from #8 to #4 would cost the Panthers much less than a move from #8 to #2,

A few questions need to be answered here...

Do we want to trade down vs staying at #4 without Fournette as an option? If we stay put we're guaranteed Jonathan Allen or Solomon Thomas... or maybe both if the Bears take Jamal Adams after his 4.33 pro day 40, or Hooker as Mel Kiper is predicting.

If we stay put and the Bears take Allen, do the Jaguars even want Solomon Thomas after not even inviting him in for a visit?

If we trade down, per the charts we're looking at getting the #8 along with the Panthers pick at the end of round two, #64 overall, their early 4th round pick, #115 overall, and possibly an additional late round pick... perhaps their 6th round pick. The Jaguars would end up with the #8, #35, #62, #68, #110 and #115 in the top four rounds, plus their 5th round pick, #148, and then two picks in round six and two picks in round seven.

The Panthers have an early 2nd round pick as well, but the Jaguars would have to return about 100 points. Also, you know the Panthers will have to spend that early pick to get to #2, so being able to keep it might be the bait the Jaguars can use to get them to bite.

Who might the Jaguars take with those picks?

At #8 I'm thinking OJ Howard suddenly makes tons of sense, although so would McCaffery who may ultimately turn out to be even better than Fournette. They might even be able to still get Allen or Lattimore at #8, or they can get their QB... Watson?

At #62 the Jaguars may be able to get their QB. Nathan Peterman, who has visited, just might be there and I'm really loving everything I read about him. In the most recent article on the front page there's a quip about Peterman...

*Kiper called Pittsburgh quarterback Nate Peterman, who played locally at Bartram Trail High School in Jacksonville, perhaps the quarterback in the ’17 draft who can play the quickest. “From a mental standpoint and knowing the game, I think he gets an edge,” Kiper said. …

Fortunately the pick is just ahead of the Browns and 49ers who may still be looking to draft a QB. Davis Webb might be there as well. Aside from QB, the #62 spot might be an ideal spot for that edge rusher they recently looked at, Tarrell Basham.

At #115 with their 2nd early 4th round pick we could still find great value at CB. And finally with the 6th round pick we can add to our OL depth.

Thoughts?
I believe the Panthers want to get to # 2 to obtain Solomon Thomas. If that happens then Leonard Fournette drops to Indy who will take a RB at #15 but they may want either Cook or McCaffrey and Fournette drops even further.

As much as the Panthers have invested into scouting Fournette, I'm convinced they want him at all costs.
