Quote:During my drive home tonight, 1010xl reported that Saban visited 3 area high schools today all by helicopter. Really?
Not trying to sound like a prude but is commuting to a high school by helicopter really in the best interest of safety for the students, employees and neighboring community? I guess if I could afford to pick up and drop off my children via helicopter, these schools would have allowed me to use the football field as well.
The reason for the visit was to simply check-in on Sophomore and Junior commitments. More prude coming; are interruptions like landing helicopters, visiting head coaches and departing helicopters really in the best interest of education?
Good lord....I'm getting old and crotchety. Tell me why you agree with me or tell me why I should sit in the corner, drink my Ensure and watch Fox News.

Have you had the urge to yell at people to get off your lawn yet?

I got no problem with it, as long as it's a one-time kinda thing. Let's face it, school is drudgery and lots of the same thing over and over. The stuff we most remember are the outliers, the things that were
not the norm and this is how I view Saban's visit.
Is missing an hour or two of school in January going to ruin a bunch of grades? Nah, I don't think so. Besides, everyone is going to remember that day that Coach Saban showed up on campus in a helicopter.
Now, can I bring you a blanket for your lap and some warm milk, or do you wanna come to the bar and have beers with the rest of us?
Quote:Lol I'm just giving him a hard time. I'm sure he's not all that worried about a bowl loss, considering Michigan's history and their promising trajectory going forward.
Yep, all good. He probably deserved it, lol.

Disagree see what Kiffen did to Tennessee. Or Kelly to Oregon.

What did Kelly do at Oregon?
I just saw the Saban flying by helicopter comments. There's a guy I work with that actually just got his helicopter flying license and bought his own helicopter. While buying your own helicopter isn't the cheapest (not as expensive as you think), renting a helicopter really isn't that bad. I believe I saw an article where he visited 3 recruits within an hour or two. He did the exact same thing in another city on the same day. If you're looking to get face time with as many kids as possible, it's a genius move.
Actually, shortly after this happened there were other coaches stealing the idea.

My son and another coach from FAU were up here hitting a bunch of schools when they were on the recruiting trail...it took them all day driving around the city. I don't blame Saban for flying in like he did.

To us adults who have done it all.
That is nothing. To the kids. That is cool.
He would do something so special for them.
Does @pirkster still post? Dude told me Harbaugh wouldn't stick around 4 years at Michigan.
Definitely nice to see Michigan back in the mix again. I always rooted for them as a kid because they have cool uniforms and one of the best fight songs.
Still don't understand why the Big10 and Big12 have show many of their great rival games showcasing at high noon (ET) which is sometimes at 11am (CT) locally.
