A Kansas City, Kan. police officer was in critical condition after being shot Tuesday afternoon as the city's police chief called for prayers on social media.

Hopefully, all perps will be brought to justice.
Praying this officer is able to pull through and the murderer is caught.

He has died. Thoughts and prayers to his family and loved ones.

From the looks of it so far, it doesn't sound like he was being targeted like the Dallas and Baton Rogue shooting. He was investigating a crime and died in the line of duty.
This world is a really sucky place at times.

Yeah, a police captain responding to an active scene is kind of odd though. Very sad.

The world is a horrific place most of the time and for most of history, we're very fortunate to live in one of the best eras of human existence.

It's an interesting kind of perspective to put in your view of the world. While things do seem horrific and terrifying at times this is, objectively, the safest and best time to be alive.

Very sad for the officer's family and friends. All these stories are just awful, hard to keep the above perspective sometimes.

This isn't getting us anywhere.

Prayers to the officer's family.
