Will the Jaguars franchise be the hottest coaching spot in sports? NO lol We have never been able to lure a big name coach. But with this loaded talented team that has a franchise QB for the next 15 years. And young RB in Yeldon. 2 horses at WR plus Lee and Greene (no one cares about these 2). With a game changing return man in Greene hahahaha

Then on defense Fowler, Jack, Telvin, Ramsey, Jackson and Gipson. 3 guys who have done nothing in the NFL and a guy who is coming from his worse season?

That new coach would be sitting on the clock with a top 3 to 5 pick and picks 35 to 37 in round 2.

Not to mention the job Khan has done with this franchise.

I mean, how could any coach not want to be our coach if this was to happen?

It's almost like we have most of this thing figured out on paper except for the coach. I think it could be the most intriguing job available in all of ESPN Land.

Nobody cares about Lee and Greene? What are you talking about?

Greene returned a punt his first game back from injury to spark a touchdown against the Titans.

Lee gives us flexibility on the field and is another weapon in our arsenal.

Yes 3 guys that have done nothing in the NFL.....but are you being serious? They are going to be studs.

Gipson coming off his worse season is better than Josh Evans best season, so again what is your point?

Big Gulps Huh?

Greene has 1 PR TD OMG what a beast!!! 93 receiving yards and 2 TDs! Sure, no team in the NFL has a player with those kind of stats.

Lee had 192 yards and 1 TD IN 2015 LOL!

Again, 3 guys who have done NOTHING in the NFL yet.

OMG we have someone better than Josh Evans!! I bet Belichick is gonna quit on the Patriots to come here!
I'm not sure what you're debating here.
Quote:We Jags fans have pretty much been "waiting and seeing" for a very long time now.

Most of us have gotten so tired of the "waiting and seeing", that the "what ifs" have to be brought up just for something new and different to talk/post about.

Quote:We've waited long enough to see. Since 2000 we've made the play-offs twice. That was in 2005 and 2007. It's been nearly a decade since we've been back. We haven't had a winning season since then as well. I was just finishing up high school that year. I am twenty eight now. I think we're on the right track. But this fan-base has been plenty supportive despite the small market and despite the losing product. I give Khan plenty of credit. He deserves it. He's taken a $760M investment and has essentially doubled it in four years. He's shown that he's committed. I do believe in Caldwell's ability to restore a roster. It's just his decision making now when it comes to headcoaches that concerns me. If Bradley doesn't maintain at the minimum a .500 record by week eight or week nine. He needs to be fired. I am normally very optimistic and patient when it comes to fandom here with this team. But enough is enough. 12 wins with 36 losses is just brutal for any fanbase.

I understand both points but, with so many new additions to the roster it's so hard to say "what if"

Although, I do have high hope for this year myself.. I guess.. we have so much talent.

It's so hard to actually gauge what constitutes as a successful season. A better win ratio? Play Offs? Division Champions?

Greene was 4th in the league in punt return average. Behind 2 guys who only returned 1 punt and 1 guy who returned 5.

Say all you want about Lee's stats. He has been hurt, when healthy he's talented enough to be a #1. Will he do that? That remains to be seen.

Gipson has been one of the best FS in football up until last year when he had an injury. I don't really understand the hate on him, he's proven to be very good when healthy.

For me. What would constitute or justify a 2017 Jaguars team with Bradley coaching it. He MUST finish with an 8 - 8 record at the minimum. I'll be a little be more lax and say he can get away with a 7 - 9 record in 2016. Even with that I feel like I am being too generous. That's fair in my mind for two reasons.

1. The offense is going into year two with Olson with more of the younger players like Bortles, Robinson, Hurns, Lee and Yeldon being more comfortable. With a healthy Linder on the line along with the addition of Ivory and a healthy Julius Thomas I expect to see them make less mistakes and become more efficient in the running game which in turn will take down the total times Bortles will face pressure or eat a sack.

&

2. The defense has gained some solid players on the front four and secondary just through free agency alone between last off season and this off season. Factor in three young players between Fowler, Ramsey and Jack, all of whom were deemed top three to five overall prospects and athletes from their respective classes. I expect the defense to function better, especially if it's true that Bradley will be calling more shots and with Wash as his coordinator and Kiffin in the house serving as a consultant like LeBeau did for the tacks last year with Horton.

An 8 - 8 record is PLENTY reasonable for this team with those two things granted above. In 2017 I fully expect a play-off based product out there on the field on gameday's with year another draft and free agency to draw in more talent.

All fair and reasonable points, well made.
Quote:I agree with what your saying. However do you think this place would be fit for a king to sit back in his chair and make the playoffs for the next 7 years with all this talent plus another top 5 pick if Bradley fails again?
If the team shows little or no improvement this year, Bradley should be fired. Nobody, not even Bradley, would disagree with Caldwell making this move unless the Jaguars show solid improvement this year. I would define solid improvement as the following:

1. The defense's overall ranking goes from 31 to 17 or better.

2. The offense continues to improve, especially the run game and fewer mistakes from Bortles

3. The won-loss record should improve to no worse than 8-8 if the first 2 things happen.

A record of anything less than 8-8 would be justification for Caldwell to replace Bradley. The only exception to this would be if, heaven forbid, Bortles gets injured and plays less than half the season.
Quote:If Bradley goes 4-12 then Trump should fly to Jacksonville in his Trump jet, look Gus in the eye and say......YA FIRED!

dude's gonna have some time on his hands.

perhaps his wifey can read me some stories from the obama archives.

So what you're saying is get ready for even more disappointment.
