Is it OK for me to feel like we have a similar group that we had when we had Hardy Nickerson, Lonnie Marts, and Robinson? (Assuming Jack wins in TC over Skuta)
Assuming everyone stays healthy --- feeling good but think we're 1 year away due to establishing cohesiveness.
Who is Robinson?
I would say Telvin, Poz, and Jack are definitely better than Lonnie Marts and an old Hardy Nickerson.

Eddie Robinson I assume.
What's funny is Robinson and Nickerson never played together.
Satisfied. Telvin is great, Poz is getting up their in age but still a leader a good player, love the Jack pick but hes a rookie and Skuta is decent depth. Think this unit will need a MLB in the future and is probably a year away from being good. Definitely need to stay healthy, keep Poz off the field on passing downs and keep him healthy, make sure Jack is 100 percent.

I'd say Peterson, Smith, Durant were a better group than the trio you mentioned.

Robinson was standing out as a LB for the Titans when Nickerson played for the Jaguars. Nickerson was a beast when he was here wherein I'd easily compare him to Poz. That would actually make for a good debate although I think Poz is even more of a playmaker with his INTs. I was wondering if Marts and Nickerson even played on the field together, although it looks like they did early on in 2000. Marts was as slow and stiff a LB as I've seen and really was only worthwhile as a short-yardage MLB. I'd take Skuta over Marts in a heartbeat.
The other LB missing in this equation is Kevin Hardy who likewise makes for a good debate vs Telvin Smith.

Is Jack even taking reps besides MLB?
I'm ok with LB, but I think it might be the weakest part of the D. Poz is old, Telvin is good going on great, Jack is a rookie and will need time, skuta is ok. Backups are really imo nobodies.
Lonnie Marts. Haven't heard that name in ages.

Marts was able to cover the TE which is why he started for us.
I am actually good friends with Lonnie and we were talking one afternoon about the old days and he said he started bc Paup couldn't cover the TE. Coughlin grabbed Marts by the face mask in practice one day and said if you can cover the TE you can start Sunday. Marts did. He played Safety at Tulane. So the words stiff might be true but he didn't suck that's for sure.

Their grooming Jack for Mlb...
So does this mean Skuta is a starter?
What it means, is that Gus knows he has a bonafide stud on his hand and wants to get him knowing and understanding all positions on LB and not just one position. Most players need to learn to master one position before moving to the next one. Elite players can learn it all.
If you put Jack along side with Smith and Poz that is dangerous. For opposition.

Neither did Robinson and Marts. Robinson played for the Jags from 96-97. Random that the OP brought him up and not Kevin Hardy, who was one of the best LBers in our history.

I thought Nickerson played well also during his time here. Unfortunately, the team was not very good.

For week 1, sure.
I like next year's (2017/2018) LB corp.... WLB Telvin Smith, MLB Myles Jack, and SLB High Pick
