The only team in the division without a true franchise QB will win the division. That is how it is supposed to work, right?

Dating back to last season Brock is 7-2 as a starter...What's Blake's record/winning % as a starter? Gee though, atleast he puts up stats, because that's what is really important huh?

It's way too early to tell how good Brock will be in the long run. As a fan who's been watching the Texans games over and over on my DVR, it becomes clear that he is a confident guy who has no doubt put in the hard work if mastering OB'S offense, but he also needs to speed up his internal clock and not take so many chances with the football.

Either way, I'm not sure how you can say he definitely isn't a franchise QB. So far he is 7-2 as a starter in the league with 13 touchdown passes and 9 interceptions. It isn't much different stat wise than how rookie QB's perform in their first starts. Some have done alot worse, so we will ultimately see.

And besides, I absolutely HATE the narrative that the only way a team is good is if they have a pro bowl franchise QB. That simply just is not true. Does having one help? Of course. But football is no doubt a team game, and it starts at the top with coaching. The Texans have a solid coaching staff and a tough defense, and now have a more explosive(if inconsistent) offense. Brock obviously affects that offense, but he's a prime reason why it's been explosive the first two games-if not for those deep passes to Fuller, the results could be much different right now.
I love how dick Lebeau is censored lol
This is a bad division, and someone is going to "win" it. Hoping Jags somehow come through as champs.
At this point I think winning is a curse. It allows management to hide all their flaws!!!

Nope. If that was true the Colts never would have gone to the playoffs with Peyton Manning.

I picked the tinhorns to win, and I am still sticking with that until they lose to an AFCS team. My surprises are how bad the Jags and Colts have been despite being 'competative.' Also the tacks are actually better than I thought. I am seeing the rails come off of houstan now tho. I see another 'worst in the nfl' division year.
Laugh at me, but I think the Titans have a shot, just based on their schedule. They beat the Browns on Sunday (and I think they will), they're .500.  They've already played killers like the Vikings.

They can succeed without asking Mariota to do much. Their running game sets up their passing game.  They do have two excellent RBs in Murray and Henry. Their offensive line blocks well.

The Colts are bad. Really bad.

The Texans are lost at QB.

I think the Jags are the most talented team in the division, but they have the worst coach. Sorry Gus.

The Titans schedule the next few weeks looks primed for a nice little win streak. Let's see if they can pull it off.

But there schedule is the same as yours, minus the Browns & Dolphins. Other than that, same 11 teams you play. Same 11 teams the Colts play. Same 11 teams the Texans play.

We all play the NFC North this year. Chicago, Detroit, Green Bay, Minnesota

We all play the AFC West this year. San Diego, Kansas City, Oakland, Denver

& we all play the AFC South, twice

Why are you surprised the Colts suck? Most people said throughout the offseason and preseason they are basically Andrew Luck and everyone else.

Even if the Texans win the division, it is safe to say they are overrated.
I still think the Colts will win it. But if they lose this week and the Titans win. Then I'm switching over to the Titans.

I think the Texans are going to fall off the map with Brock.

The Jags just ain't ready yet.

Nfl.com has the texans as the 6th seed even though they are division leaders.

But Jags are 1 game out of first place in the south, and the titans are 1/2 game back.... and even the colts are 1 game back. It's going to be a close race.

Jags are 1 and 1/2 games out.

Titans are 1 game out.

Titans are 1 game out.

You're right. Nfl.com's playoff picture has texans at 3-2... not 4-2. Setting everything off by 1 game.
AFCS Standings:

Houston 4-2

Tennessee 3-3

Jacksonville 2-3

Indianapolis 2-4

Up next:

raiders @ Jags

clots @ tacks

tinhorns @ broncos

I'll take the clots to upset the tacks at home, the tinhorns to lose badly in Denver, and somehow, someway, the Jags get the victory over JDR and company.

Interestingly, the tinhorns are 4-0 at home and 0-2 on the road right now.  They play two more games (1 home, 1 away) before their bye and then their last half of their schedule ends with 5 games on the road and only 3 at home.  With this in mind coupled with who their opponents are, their schedule doesn't lend itself to them finishing strong.  I'm more concerned about the tacks than I am the tinhorns at the moment, but I do believe the Jags will win the division this year.

I wish NFL.com would not show a playoff picture before all 14 games have been played.

Psshhh... the Jags are on their schedule twice. Looks pretty favorable to me.

Not before Houston's bye.
