Pick up BAP DL in 4th.
TC most likely choses Allen over Fournette if Chicago takes Adams, but I hope it would fall as I mocked.
I just can't see lamp falling to our 2nd round pick unless he's smoking a bong before the draft
Quote:I just can't see lamp falling to our 2nd round pick unless he's smoking a bong before the draft
Let's call Tunsil to help with that. I want that beast in the 2nd round.
I didn't think he would fall to the 2nd either, but then I did this mock and it fell that way. If the first OL does not go until #20, like here, then he could be pushed down. Then again, Miami could take him at #22. Where do you see him going based on the rest of my first round? Anything jump out?
If he isn't there, I have been mocking OG/T Dion Dawkins to the Jags at #35, who might be just as good. If we don't go OG, I like CB/S Awuzie at #35.
Atlanta would be worst case scenario for him IMO. Should go top 20 I'd guess though due to little depth at this position
Quote:Atlanta would be worst case scenario for him IMO. Should go top 20 I'd guess though due to little depth at this position
Yeah, I had him going to Atlanta, but changed their pick to DE Charles Harris since Harris is ranked higher on most lists, and they have OLB Brooks Reed listed as their starting left DE right now.
I'm not taking Shaheen over Bucky Hodges or Kittle. Shaheen should be there in round four.
In round three I also could see going CB with Jourdan Lewis or Cameron Sutton.
Lamp is a special player at an undervalued position. I can't see him making it to Round 2. If we traded back to 12 and took Lamp there, that would work nicely I think.
Lamp reminds me of David DeCastro a few years ago. I thought he was probably the most sure fire thing outside of Luck in that 2012 draft, and I think Lamp is about the most surefire thing in this one. Pitt got DeCastro at #24, he's a 2 time all-pro at age 27. If Pitt had drafted him at 10 for example, would he be worth it? Would Lamp? I think the answer to that is yes. If we don't find a way to snatch him up in the first, Seattle takes him I think.

I can totally see the Seahawks taking Lamp at #26. I can also see the Giants taking him at #23, although I do think he makes it at least that far. If we had the 12 pick we should be safe to trade back even further with Lamp as the target.

Shaheen has surpassed Hodges on most lists. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/prospectrankings/2017/TE
I could see a CB in the 3rd though if they want to take advantage of this deep class.

Shaheen has been a pretty strong riser. His upside makes him worth the third rounder to me.

I agree Lamp is going to be a special player, and he is being touted as the most versatile O-lineman in the draft with his ability to also play center. However, in my scenario, Cam Robinson is there for Seattle, and he is probably a better fit for their needs to start at left or right tackle. Seattle also could have taken Bolles there, which might be more likely.
Actually, the guy I have read is the most "sure thing" is Dion Dawkins out of Temple. I've seen a few mocks now with him in the first, but he'd be a great pick for the jags at #35 if Lamp is gone.
I see no way Robinson goes ahead of Lamp and I believe Atlanta will take an OG. They need a big DT/DE type to play the 5 technique and Harris is more a LEO type.

The CBS rankings never make any sense... they're even worse than Walter.
Bucky is a total stud TE you know will start from day one while developing as a blocker.
Shaheen is a developmental guy with potential due to combine results.

Did Bucky hodges ever line up in line at va tech?

I could see that happening too. Robinson for me is a parade of red flags but someone is going to pick that mammoth. I'm trying to remember a recent history of guards taken in the 1st and how they turned out.
Warmack, Cooper, Decastro, Leonard Davis.. that's all I can think of. The bag seems pretty mixed.

dolphins too
tunsil moving to LT gives them a need at LG
Quote:Did Bucky hodges ever line up in line at va tech?
Very rarely. He was a wide receiver in all but name. Played a little bit of H back catching out of the backfield.

You're right. I can totally see the Dolphins taking Lamp at #22.
