It seems like every year, there is an undrafted free agent who stands out to everyone. Sometimes (Allen Hurns) it works out. Sometimes (Julius Williams) it doesn't.

After only a few days at mini camp, the guy being talked about most is a safety from Michigan, Jarrod Wilson. I noticed him yesterday because he looks big for a DB but does not seem to be lacking in speed. When I saw him, I had no idea who he was and had to look him up. He was mostly playing against the third team offense but look really good out there.

He is drawing praise from both teammates and coaches. Someone worth keeping an eye on when camp and preseason begins.

Bye bye Craig Loston.

He is awful. I am surprised he is even still on the team heading into camp. He has almost no shot of making it.
He looked good with the threes.  Natural "break to the ball" instincts during the 7 on 7 redzone stuff.

Seems like good depth behind Gipson if he continues this pace.  Hopefully he can contribute on ST this season.

Welp.....that didn't take long.
LOL.

I would love to have another Allen Hurns situation Wink

It appears there is room to add one more player.

As for Wilson, I'll keep him on my radar this Preseason.

Keep in mind that we didn't draft any offensive linemen... Caldwell was quoted saying that the couple of lineman we picked up as UDFAs would have been draft picks any other year, but apparently the tackles this year were very deep. Look for 1 of those to make the team as well. Not sure of their names and too lazy to look them up.

Rashod Hill and Pearce Slater  -

Slater has prototypical size and is very raw but could be one to watch down the road as a back-up. I seem to recall him being mocked to us in the 7th by myself and a few others in the fanspeak mock thread months ago.

Indeed Slater was a higher profile UDFA. His nfl.com grade was a 5.0, which is the equivalent of a late 5th round pick. Hill was not listed as an nfl.com prospect.

I'm hoping Slater can be another developmental guy like Collier. Guys with that size are rare.
Nice

Little article here about Wilson from 247 Sports.

Wilson has a shot, as the two primary competitors to backup Gipson have been unimpressive to date.  Evans had his opportunity on the field and showed little.  Thompson is a 5'10" converted CB that has already been with 4 teams, and has multiple PS assignments.
