The way our offense is, we're likely going to see a lot of 3 WR sets anyway, especially if Lee is healthy.  Majority of snaps will probably be out of the shotgun with a single back and single TE.

Yall need to not forget about Greene. Before his injury he was the leading receiver on this team as far as receptions.


He is our true slot WR.


Bottom line it don't matter who we throw out there.

Is this actually true? I know he got injured early, but still. Didn't realize that.

Meaningless stat. They threw him the ball in the flat a lot when they couldn't run it early on.

It was only 14 catches in four games.

(7 receptions vs Carolina for a net of 28 YDS)


Greene will do great in the slot, but he'll share some snaps there.

Yes it's true. As NY said, it was meaningless bc we couldn't run it. But yes he led the team in catches before his injury.


Then came back and electrified the crowd and sparked them team on Thursday Night Football.

I like Greene. I like him a lot. He's gonna be a great punt return guy and a heckuva slot receiver, but Marqise is a superior athlete.

I'm really stoked they are BOTH on this roster regardless of how you want to rank them.

Gotcha. I do like Greene a lot, but I have to agree with NYC that Lee is by far the better athlete.

 

And all of this argument between Hurns/Lee/Green..... it's pretty amazing they're all on this team. Along with ARob.

 

If out biggest problem is figuring out how to get all of these guys on the field, that's a good problem to have.

I'm loving this WR depth. Some of you might remember back to the days of J-Smooth and Keenan when we could never find a good 3rd WR. Now we can actually take out both Allens and still have a formidable line-up with something like...

+1 totally agree this offense will see a lot of 3 wr sets.. With lee opposite ar15 with hurns in slot.. Teams are gonna gameplan on hurns and lees gonna torch em deep.. Or on a slant route.. Teams won't even see him coming.. I'm telling ya he has that type talent..

I do not know about that.  Cause have been hinting on running a bunch of 2 TE sets.  Anyway we look at it.  A great problem to have.

I also think the number of two TE sets will limit the number of 3WR sets we see.

I think they will NEED the two TE stuff to protect Blake's blindside.

We should see a good amount of 3WR looks - but I wouldn't count on "lots" of it.

Regardless, either would be a killer in the slot. I think Hurns' route running ability allows him to play anywhere and be successful. Excited about our WRs.

I think there could be a healthy rotation.  Allen Robinson is great, but he doesn't need to be on the field for every offensive snap if Hurns, Lee, and Greene are all healthy.  Less wear and tear on his body during the game = better performance at the end of games, less likelihood of injuries as the season goes on.

Hurns has proven himself to be a reliable asset while Lee has earned the moniker (the white tiger)... because he's been so rarely seen on the field due to injuries. It doesn't matter if he's fast and has great hands if he's also made of glass.

 

Lack of reliability is a liability. Splitting snaps with Hurns will only serve to degrade Hurns performance. Keep Lee off the field unless someone else is hurt.

 

At least, that's mho.

If this is your plan you might as well keep Lee off the roster.

ARob,Hurns,Lee,and Greene is a great probem to have, IMO. Me thinks Julius Thomas and Chris Ivory will be the ones to benefit the most out of the quandary.
