Just curious, if, after all the time this forum has existed, anyone has had their political opinion changed by someone's argument here. Feel free to elaborate if you have.
0. If anything, I feel stronger about my opinion after being on here.
Definitely not, but it has been changed on other forums.

Nope.
But I was told that all you insulated and uneducated conservative types would see the light if you'd just get out of your echo chambers and talk with your leftist betters. You all must just be dum.
My political views have been shifting over the last couple of years anyway, but there have been a handful of good discussions on here that have changed my mind on things. Obamacare, for example. FBT was dead-on right about that one.

Sure, I'm more open minded to some policies I hadn't been in the past. The one point I think TED made about if I'm really anti-abortion why would I oppose free contraceptives was a real mind bender. My over-all belief system is the same, but conversing with "liberals", "progressives", "conservatives", heck even some open "socialist" on here gives me a different perspective and I enjoy that.

Its not about changing someones mind, it's about seeing topics that we might be so focused in on from one perspective from a different perspective.

The big one for me is guns. I was very anti gun. I still don't like them but I understand pro gun points and accept that they are part of our country's history, and constitution.

Conservatives have good points about a lot of their positions the problem is most of the time they are jerks in presenting then. I suppose that they see liberals the same way though.
Guns are a big change of heart for me as well. Eric in particular has made me much more pro gun than I was a year ago.
To quote a great philosopher Ronald "Mac" McDonald from Always Sunny In Philadelphia

"I won't change my mind, because I don't have to, because I'm an American.  I won't change my mind on anything...

Don't worry, it only takes a small opening to allow new ideas to enter a brain. Nothing will leak out, unless the brain is small, or liquefied.

Regarding the topic, my views on the ACA have changed, and I understand Eric a little better.

My perception is that minds are made up and not many who get involved here are swayed easily. If sides were aircraft, one would be gliders, the others B-52s. As for some others, using comedians..there are George Carlins vs Larry the Cable Guy.

Doesn't Larry have to be funny in order to be considered a comedian?

My point.
