Serious question: why is it that gay/lesbians can understand straight people? Yet I've never heard a straight man say "ya' know, I'm straight but I can totally get why a dude would put his penis in another man!"


Also, if they are born with it and it's all they know, then why are so many scared or embarrassed to come out? Sure, the ridicule from others is a big one, but certainly can't make up 100% of those that don't or can't.


If your born that way, why marry straight, have kids, then go that route?

Something that frustrates me is that this is one of the 'boxes' to check on a job application, or a voting balot card (sometimes).

 

Ok, so I've been in my job for 13 years and haven't applied elsewhere, I'm a heterosexual 31 year old male, but I don't seem to see the point in this question.

 

Does it have any bearing on whether you get the job? Is it literally a demographics check (if so, why? Does it make a difference?)

 

Oh, for what it's worth, I've participated in the survey here... I have no problem in doing so, my 'rant' is more about employers asking this question. I've just finished a study on Equality, Diversity & Inclusion within the workplace as part of a Vocational Qualification I'm doing.

This would bring a whole new meaning of "Corn", had it been an option.

Thanks to all that took the time to vote. I know it was just a small group but the data suggest the percentage of the population is still at 10% that identify as Transgendered. Same results I got in the original study.
