Quote:We got 99 problems and Dave ain't one, but until the W's outweigh the L's no one should feel safe, even the guy selling peanuts needs to be on notice

If we end up with more L's than W's with this roster, somebody needs to be held accountable, and that somebody is not Caldwell. I know this is a tough schedule that could cost the team a few wins, but we're not talking about a winless season here.

Shore up the OL and this team is winning 8 to 11 games. I know I'm wearing my teal glasses, but I'm leaning towards them winning 10 to 11 games along with the AFC South title and most likely the 4th seed. Vegas is sleeping on this team.

Khan: So how much are you looking for Dave?

Dave: Well, lets work out something decent and start from there.

Khan: How's 5 million a year?

Dave: Only if I can borrow the yacht a few times.

Khan: This is getting out of control.

Quote:It's a tough question. By all accounts, he has dismantled a team and completely rebuilt it into a supposed contender. It has not proven out through the w/l record though. I think most would agree that he is doing as good of a job as can be expected from a first time GM though. He made a couple mistakes along the way, but looking at the big picture, he has done an admirable job with this overhaul, if not stellar.

I am not certain of his contract status, but I seem to recall he originally signed a 5 year contract with the Jags. I believe once his contract runs it's course, he will become a very hot commodity for a front office position around the NFL. I would hate to see another team swoop him up and leave the Jags looking for a new front man.

All that being said, I think it's time for Khan to lock up Caldwell to an extension ASAP.

Agree or disagree?

I think he's done a solid job.  He hasn't hit on every choice he's made obviously but he's definitely been right more often than wrong.  He shouldn't be anywhere near the hot seat and I hope Shad signs him to a big extension sooner rather than later.  Ultimately though the team has to start winning consistently.
Yes. Best GM Jags have ever had. Bortles pick alone when most Jags fans wanted Manziel or Bridgewater SAVED Jags franchise. Luckily, it's doubtful Caldwell or Marrone or ANY coach wants to leave this young team. The upside is through the roof.
Lets see if the team he put together can generate more than hype before we throw the wallet at him.

No playoffs... no new contract!!

Disagree. Caldwell has put EVERY piece in place. The head coaching and defensive coaching has been awful. Olson and Marrone (new HC) can stay. Gus needs to go if this guy can't get meaner and demand winning. Gus hasn't proven he knows what he's doing coaching defense (25th-30th in PPG allowed in all 3 years coaching).
caldwell is solid

GMs don't typically just pack up and leave on their own.

As long as he is having success, he is not going to want to go anywhere.

His motivation will be about maintaining a legacy.
