I still consider this to be part of the dead period, so I throw out another topic to contemplate & discuss /  debate:

Name a few College Football Teams and name who you consider to be the traditional face of the football team the list 2 others that would be in top consideration (these don't necessarily have to be their best player in history) ....   I'll go 1st with a few ones I consider to be somewhat easy ...

Oklahoma Sooners:  Brian Bosworth  -- for a university that is buried in tradition, the Boz beats out Billy Sims & Adrian Peterson

Pitt Panthers:  Dan Marino --- I'll got with Tony Dorsett & Larry Fitzgerald as the next 2 (even though OL Mark May & Russ Grimm have remained public figures).

... tougher ....

Florida -- Tebow then Emmitt & Wuerffel (??)   I'd like to say Javon Kearse but his identity as it relates directly to UF is somewhat lost.

FSU - Jameis Winston (?) Charlie Ward (?) -- then Warrick Dunn & Derek Brooks (??) --- Peter Warrick (??)

Georgia -- Hershel then AJ Green (?) Matt Stafford (?) -- heck Lindsay Scott comes to mind when I think of UGA.  I forgot Stafford was even a Dawg until I looked at the list.

Hmmmm. Interesting take, I'll play! In no particular order...

Miami

Jimmie Johnson - I can't think of the "U" without thinking of him

Michael Irvin - Really can't stand that guy, but he is Miami

Warren Sapp - He was the first of many great Miami defenders in my mind.

USC

Lienart - While he never made it in the pros, I think he really epitomized that USC run that Carroll had.

OJ - What a phenomenal college player

Reggie Bush - The best athlete on a team packed with superior athletes

FSU = Neon Deion, Warrick, Warrick

UCLA =  Aikman

Tenn = Manning

Notre Dame = Holtz
Florida:

1. Steve Spurrier

2. Tim Tebow

3. Emmitt Smith

I agree w/ your take on The U

USC -- I'd move OJ to #1, throw in Pete Carroll as #2, and add Lienart #3 -- I still can't get the Lienart pic below out of my head ...

I probably shouldn't have numbered the names I gave as I was simply talking about three people that were the face of the program.

That, or just stated "in no particular order."
