Grasping at straws. They need to just cut him. I understand he's a good guy but his personality isn't going to win us any games.

Mike and Will are titles that have been used for years to avoid saying "middle linebacker" and "weakside linebacker" in meeting rooms. LEO, OTTO and LOTTO are cutesy names created by a coach that wants to be Gene Smith when he grows up.

They're trying to find a way to allow him to make plays.  What they call him is irrelevant.  Many on this board have been asking why he hasn't seen more time on the field.  It'll be interesting to see how he responds to the change.

I agree. I think this means trouble for Davis.

Jack of all trades master of none.. I feel bad for the guy because Ryan Davis has proven to be really good at times inside & out on the line.. if only they had kept him at one or the other so he could get really good at it.

Ryan Davis kind of reminds me of Carolina's LB Thomas Davis.  Kind of a little fireplug that is not enormously gifted in talent but always bringing everything he has on every play and bring right in the action of the play.

Well let's see if the cute names get us wins now that we actually have some talented players playing there. Any position name will be a joke when you are leaning on Andre Branch and an old Chris Clemons.

He ran a 4.85 with mediocre 10/20 yard times coming out of college 3-4 years ago when he was 10-15 pounds lighter, before the wear and tear of NFL seasons and injuries (including a knee).  I like Ryan as a 'try hard' guy, but he is replaceable.

Thomas Davis and "not enormously gifted in talent" don't really go together.
