If were throwing out the stats, I guess all we have is throwing out opinions at each other over some "film" we watched on youtube. It has at least been the common wisdom that beefier linebackers hold up better in the run for obvious reasons.

Per previous threads, I do not respond to Glock Bortles.

Makes sense. He's slimming down to take over as RB1.

He also played safety -- perhaps we can utilize him as a 2-way player
I'm just hoping to see him on the field more.

His lack of playing time last year was a disappointing especially after he had been considered a top 5 talent.

You don't just simply throw a rookie into the lineup when you have talent like Dan Skuta on the roster.

Myles is kind of like our version of Steve Young or Aaron Rogers ....  you need to be patient and wait behind the best.

Do not tease me with this! Coming out of college, I thought Jack was an even better RB than he was a LB. In fact, I liked him better than Zeke Elliott as a RB. When he lined up in the backfield at UCLA, I knew a big play was coming.

Good point, I mean Skuta had at least a dozen tackles last year.  It isn't easy for a rookie to replicate that kind of production.
Quote:Take safety off the table with our #4.

Coughlin is genius.
Not gonna lie, when they drafted him (and from some of his pre-draft interviews that were disclosed) I genuinely thought they were going to move him to SS to be our version of a faster Kam Chancellor, to be the lynchpin of Bradley's style of Defense. Considering he was projected to be a WLB due to being slightly on the small side and we already had Telvin there playing at a high level, I really thought it was going to happen.... little did I know Gus would manage to not play one of his brightest young talents anywhere on the field lol
Quote:I think 222 would fit him much better than 221.

Damn it man he had to be 227.5 lbs or this just won't work!
Never going to get to 227.5 with this South Beach Diet that he's currently on.

Quote:He's listed at 218. I think he was 210 in college.

He has even admitted that he drops to the 210 range in the season (in the NFL) in an interview with Jeff Lageman.

218 was Telvin at a heavy weight during the combine.
Quote:221 is like Telvin Smith weight. That seems too small to play strong side or middle. Am I missing something? Sure he will be fast but will he hold up in the run?

I know... this was my first impression of hearing the news. Don't we want him closer to 240 if he's to be our new starting MLB?

I don't know about that being his "heavy weight." You don't often hear of players showing up to their combine heavy. They typically lose weight to run faster and jump further.

Myles posted another photo on IG, he down to 219.65 lbs.

What do we do?!?
Looks like he's been in the Middle East, maybe he's not able to find decent food?

A lot of the players are posting quick videos of them working out. Good sign. Yannick Ngakoue posts videos of himself working out basically every day. That guy is going to be a monster for us.
