And yes, I left Henne on it. This is a roster prediction more than it is a depth chart so no names are listed twice.

QB
(3): Blake Bortles, Chad Henne, Brandon Allen

RB
(4): Chris Ivory, TJ Yeldon, Jonas Gray, Corey Grant

WR1
(3): Allen Robinson, Marquis Lee, Arrelious Benn

WR2/slot
(3): Allen Hurns, Rashad Greene, Bryan Walters

TE
(3): Julius Thomas, Marcedes Lewis and Nic Jacobs

OT
(4): Luke Joekel, Kelvin Beachum, Jermey Parnell, Josh Wells

C/G
(5): Brandon Linder, AJ Cann, Mackenzy Bernadeau, Luke Bowanko, Tyler Shatley

OFFENSE: 25, tough cuts were Neal Sterling and Denard Robinson, Grant is flat out more exciting and faster than DRob with better hands, and Jacobs edges out Sterling at TE since he'll double as their new FB in short yardage situations.

LEO
(3): Dante Fowler, Yannick Ngakoue, Jonathan Woodard

DT:
(3): Malik Jackson, Sen'Derrick Marks, Sheldon Day

NT
(2): Roy Miller, Abry Jones

DE
(2): Jared Odrick, Ryan Davis

OLB
(2): Telvin Smith, Dan Skuta

MLB
(2): Paul Posluszny, Jordan Tripp

OTTO
(2): Myles Jack, Tyrone Holmes

CB
(5): Davon House, Jalen Ramsey, Prince Amukamara, Aaron Colvin, Nick Marshall

FS
(2): Tashaun Gipson, James Sample

SS
(2): Josh Evans, Johnathan Cyprien

DEFENSE: 25, tough cuts were all the UDFAs, but I can't project any making it this early. McCray, Armbrister and Bennett were kind of tough

K (1): Jaden Oberkrom

P (1): Brad Nortman

LS (1): Carson Tinker

Looks great but either Cyp or Sample starts at SS. Most likely Cyp.

Evans is a backup.
If Evans starts at SS we have serious issues. The guy is a back up.

Indeed we have serious issues at SS. From what I've seen watching them both, Evans impresses me more, and yes I fully realize just how sad that is.

If Sample and/or Cyprien are healthy I do not see how Evans starts.

Also not sure that Woodard makes it over Alualu.

I think Denard Robinson makes it over Corey Grant.  I don't think Woodard makes the 53.  I think Michael Bennett does though.  And I think McCray over Marshall.

Sample might start at SS, it's just I need a backup FS and I can't exactly put Cyp or Evans at FS.

I feel Grant will prove he's more of a playmaker and TD scoring machine both as a return specialist and at RB than DRob so I can't agree there. It wouldn't shock me to see Bennett beat out Woodard, but I'm impressed with the tape of Woodard being able to mount a pass rush from anywhere on the DL. As for McCray I wouldn't mind him making the roster and could see this if I didn't feel they intend to stash Marshall on the roster a while longer. That said, one of the rookie UDFAs might end up beating them both out. ...the same goes for one of the rookie OLs vs Shatley.

Evans is a backup.
Sample is atleast versatile, and can play both safety positions. CB is rewlly deep, but hopefully we don't suffer any injuries at safety, because we don't have very good depth. Same at LB, although Jack's versatility to play all 3 positions helps. I hope Skuta isn't Telvin's back up... hopefully it's Jack.

Offense (24) :

Qb - Bortles, Henne (2)

RB - Yeldon, Ivory, Gray, Robinson (4)

WR - Robinson, Hurns, Lee, Greene, Walters, Sterling (6)

TE - Thomas, Lewis, Jacobs, Koyack (4)

OL - Beachum, Linder, Cann, Bowanko, Parnell, Shatley, Joeckel, Bernadeau(8)

(3)

K - Meyers

P - Nortman

LS - Tinker

Defense : (26)

LEO - Fowler, Davis, Ngakoue, Woodard(4)

NT - Miller, Jones(2)

DT - Jackson, Marks, Day(3)

RE - Odrick, Alualu(2)

LB - Smith, Poz, Jack, Skuta, Tripp, Holmes (6)

CB - Ramsey, House, Prince, Colvin, McCray (5)

S - Gipson, Cyp, Sample, Evans (4)

PS -

Allen - QB

Boddy-Calhoun CB or Mike Hilton CB or if Nick Marshall is eligible. Running with 5 CBS means we have to have one on the PS.

Corey Grant - RB, if eligible

Would Josh Wells be eligible?

The top 5 spots at WR are pretty clear cut. If they decide to keep 6, I think the final spot is between Sterling and Benn, with Sterling winning out due to his versatility.

I think we carry two QBS again and send Allen to the PS.

RB is pretty clear cut. It's between Robinson and Grant for the final spot, and I think Robinson is the better football player, so he takes that.

TE, pretty set. Sterling can also play move TE, which I'm not sure Koyack can play.

OL - I know the team loves Wells, but that final spot is between Wells and Bernadeau.

At DL, I really like Bennett, and I really want Alualu cut, but Alualu's versatility will probably keep him on the roster to spell Odrick. Unless Day or Bennett can play that position. I have Alualu but I hope Bennett sticks.

At LB, they have Holmes listed as a LB, but he can also play LEO. That gives Caldwell flexibility in creating this roster.

At CB, I want to see McCray stick around.
Man. This seems way too early......

I think we keep 3 QB's on the roster.  With the intent that Allen eventually replaces Henne as the backup.  I could see us doing just two, but then there's a big risk someone grabs Allen off the practice squad.

Woodard is not a leo

Agreed in the same sense that Ryan Davis is not a LEO despite his often being listed there. Both players are versatile enough to rush from anywhere along the DL.

It's kind of a tough call. I remember Coughlin once trying to risk a fast WR on the PS, but the Cowboys snagged him right up. You'd have to guage the interest, but with as accurate of a deep pass as Allen has, I feel the risk is too great. If you only keep two, the right call is to ax Henne and just keep Allen .

The Nick Marshall project needs to be over immediately

Only two players that dont offer versatility are Miller and Jones... maybe Bennett too.

The problem here is you're basically cutting Josh Wells in order to keep Alualu. I don't see that happening.

At TE, I can see Sterling beating out Koyack if they keep four, although I haven't had a look at the new rookie TE yet.

arrellious ben over sterling is dumb.

These are two players you don't want offering versatility unless it means they can also play OL.

No way.... Arrelious is probably our fastest WR and is one hell of a deep threat. I can't wait to see him and Bortles develop timing with Arrelious healthy. Sterling is merely a guy stuck between WR and TE. He's too big for the former and too small for the latter.
