Quote:Oh yeah...screw Olivier Vernon!

I wish Vernon the best of luck in New York but I'm happy with the end result.
What's crazy is that if the Cowboys had taken Ramsey, Myles may have had his wish at #5.

Or would we have taken Buckner and hoped for Jack later?
Really great article. So happy we have this guy on our team.
This is why I wanted this guy so badly. Extreme talent on the field; but also extreme character. We don't get much true "want" to be in Jville nowadays. Jack, Ramsey, and Fowler could be the defense cornerstones for a good bit. Can't wait for camp to start!!

GO JAGS!!

Quote:The thing is (while not ideal), even if he does need micro-fracture surgery in the future, who's to say he doesn't come back 100%? People are acting as if it's a foregone conclusion micro-fracture surgery will end his career, everyone responds to the procedure differently.
MJD had it then came back to be the rushing leader.

This is exactly why I don't understand the concerns about Jack's longevity.
His doc is saying he does not need the surgery now and if he does down the road he may be just fine. I personally loved the pick. If not for Ramsey would have loved him in the first. Caldwell is the best acquisition for this team as far as the rebuild goes. GO JAGS!!!!

Is his doctor James Andrews, the one who said he will not need surgery?
We are extremely lucky to have this young man on our team. He has the potential to become a star in this league on a national level aka MJD. I am really rooting for Myles Jack.

Dave Caldwell knew he was very lucky when the Cowboys picked Jaylon Smith.

Who ever would have thought I can say thanks to the two teams I hate the most?

No way they're not going to take me - Myles Jack

he was right, but wrong on when..

Hopefully he takes his embarrassment and uses it as fuel to motivate him in the NFL..

much like Mojo had done..

Myles Jack said he will do that, although he obviously can't wear #32 like MJD did.
Quote:You could hear Dave's voice cracking talking to Jack on the phone. Emotional.

Which is really saying a lot considering how even keel Caldwell always is...... really cool
Thank NY Giants HC Ben McAdoo as Coughlin wouldn't have passed on talent like Myles Jack (IMO)

He is currently listed as #44 on the Jaguars roster (while that may change) and #30 is another rookie Briean Boddy-Calhoun (I assume if Myles wanted it he could probably get it from him).

Jalen Ramsey is listed as #38 at the moment.

MJD wore #32 because 32 teams passed on him in the first round.
Great read. Thanks for sharing.

I have to wonder after reading that article if Jack said what he said about micro fracture surgery to ensure he was available to us at 5 seeing as how confident he was that we were going to take him and how much he apparently wanted to play here. Nice to hear players that talk about wanting to be here. I'm glad it worked out for him in the end. I know it's a little early for speculation about his 2nd contract but he sounds like the type of guy that understands the value of playing out your whole career with one team even if the short term money looks better elsewhere. I think if his knee doesn't become an issue he's gonna be a Jag for a long time.
Watching the highlights of Jack again on YouTube, he's definitely a modernized 4-3 prototypical LB. His ball skills are unreal for a LB. Great instinct. Great coverage skills, he probably can cover any TE and take that TE away. It's just going to be exciting watching him.
