First, many of you know that I believe this draft needs to get us an impactful RG, RB and a TE in the first four picks. Many of you also know that I think we should try hard to trade back to 10, 11 or 12 and get another 2nd round pick.

I looked back at the last three years of ratings by NFL.com Draft Tracker and found that only

12 players have received a rating of 6.7 or higher and they have been very accurate in predicting success in those players rated this high.

The 12 are Leonard Williams, Jadaveon Clowney, Myles Jack, Khalil Mack, DeForest Buckner, Ezekiel Elliott, Kevin White, Jalen Ramsey, Dante Fowler, Joey Bosa, Amari Cooper and Jameis Winston.

I know Kevin White has been hurt and the jury is still out on Dante Fowler and, to some extent Jameis Winston but this seems to be a great barometer of NFL success.

Do you agree ??

Taking this at face value, it tells me the NFL.com are adept at identifying the very top prospects-or at least compiling the scouting reports that do.  But did Mariota not have a 6.7 rating?
Yeah Fowler and White had injuries, but nfl.com is pretty accurate with their grades.

If we base it off that then it's Thomas or Allen if his medical is good, otherwise probably Fournette. Which is pretty much what I kinda think, although I can be convinced of taking Lattimore or Howard too, heck probably even Hooker or Adams.

This year Myles Garrett, Leonard Fournette, Thomas Soloman and Malik Hooker are all 6.7 or higher.

Do you agree ??[/quote My apologies as I meant to state that I included all positions except OT since it is soooooo hard to predict.

Mariota was a good bit lower at 6.2.

Add Jonathon Allen.
Crazy that Jack's rating was 7.3, watching him ride the bench was frustrating.

Almost as bad as watching Gus trying to win a game...
