Quote:As for the point in bold, I disagree to an extent.
I think with a tackle, if he has the feet and the frame to play tackle, you can always slide him inside and move him outside later.
Ogden, Ben Coleman, and Leon Searcy are three examples of guys who were inside initially who eventually moved outside and did well.
But even if you were not inclined to move a guy like Moton inside, I would still be okay with taking him as a RT in the second and coming back to take a 3rd round G.
Of course, an OL builder's dream would be to trade down in the first and pick up another late first (i.e. from New Orleans) or a high second (i.e. Cleveland) and just go to work from there-two at the top of the second and maybe even in the 3rd, or maybe even Ramczyk in the first if you were convinced he could play LT.
Don't get me wrong. I would not be against taking Moton in round 2 to play RT. In fact, I'd love it. As for taking an OG in round 3, unless one of my guys that I like, slide clear to round 3, this would depress me. I really don't see a plug and play OG who is projected to go in round 3 or later.
Quote:I'll pass on any LT that high considering we just got Brandon Albert and he'll be here a while. We don't need our first round pick sitting a year or two. I'd rather get Dion Dawkins and plug him in at LG while developing him to eventually move outside. I was thinking he'd probably go to RT, but in time he might be able to start at his natural LT position. ...perhaps just in time for Albert to retire.
Slide Albert to RT and start Ramczyk at LT.

You really don't think Siragusa is plug and play? He's every bit as good as Dawkins to me. More powerful, more athletic, and he's got the notorious mean streak everyone wants in a guard.

I think he
can be very good, but he is more raw than the guys I mentioned before. He needs to work on his technique. He isn't as fluid as my top rated OG's and he's a little slower getting out of his stance. Gun to my head, he's probably my 4th rated pure OG, but I see a big dropoff from Dawkins to him. I'm not saying he can't be good, I'm saying he's not the sure thing I see in Lamp and Feeney and doesn't show the high potential I see in Dawkins.
Siragusa has serious pass protection issues as a G, and is graded a 5.5 by nfl.com.
Dawkins is a fantastic pass blocker but lacks ideal agility to start immediately at LT in the NFL. He's graded a 5.8.

Which is why we're talking about starting him at guard where that agility issue will be mitigated.
This guy Duke Manyweather is an offensive line expert who does a ton of analysis with Oline prospects. Hosts a podcast with Geoff Schwartz too. Anyway he does these breakdowns of Oline guys which you learn a ton from. I find it fairly hard to watch Oline guys but he does a great job explaining each bit.
Heres a video he did on Pat Elfein

I'm starting to just want mixon in round 2. Take a guard in round 3. We found Linder in the third. Round 1 Thomas/Howard/Hooker..Round 2 Mixon.. Round 3 best available guard.

If it's a you tube link, you have to remove the http prefix and just let folks copy/paste. Filters no-likey the you tubes links.
I'm not sure I follow NYC.
What I do is hit "share" underneath the Youtube video, and then post that link. At least it's a link to the video on YouTube.
There are no rules against embedding videos though as long as they're not unauthorized nfl clips. Have you figured out how to do that?

There have been times I've posted the full link and the MB showed a blank post. Then when I just remove the prefix in the shared link it will post fine (but remove the hotlink/clickable feature.)
It's likely that certain vids are trusted, cleared, have no red flags etc - while others are being filtered out as questionable due to music content or copyright issues.
If I ran into the "blank post" issue while sharing the vid JackCity just shared then I'd just post it like so:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=Drqjc3NyE_o&feature=youtu.be
...and folks can just copy/paste the link should they want to view it. I'm assuming Bullseye ran into a similar issue.
I never have to do that, just hit the link button and put the hypertext in there. I post youtubes all the time.

It happens to me around 20% of the time I try to link a youtube vid.
