I don't get the love fest for Henne. Sure he's bffs with Bortles, but Bortles is past the point of needing a hand to hold while learning the offense.
We have such good fortune with Arkansas QBs.

Bortles is going into his thrid year and is like 23. I think a vet needs to be the back up for at least another year or two. But I'm down for having Henne's replacement on the PS already.

As long as we stop drafting Gators I'm happy. Stick to FSU and UCF players
Jags' 6th round draft pick Brandon Allen led CFB in QBR last year. Recent leaders: Mariota, Winston, Manziel, Wilson, Luck, Kaepernick
The way this draft has gone we're almost 100% certain to trade him for 2 first rounds picks in a couple of years.
Coming from a SEC snob Allen was the best QB in the SEC last year.Hands down.Fantastic Senior year

That's quite an accomplishment. I'm an FSU alum/fan, but even I acknowledge SEC competition is the best in college football.

Show us on the doll where the Gators touched you.
I'm an Arkansas fan. BA went through a lot in his college career. He wasn't very good in 2013, got better in 2014, then was one of the better QBs in college football last year. Early in his career he had his truck burned by fans and went through 4 different OCs in 5 years. I think he's better than some of the QBs taken ahead of him, played in a pro-style offense in the SEC, but his size and tiny hands hurt him. Daniel Jeremiah really likes him though, gave him a 3rd round grade. Overall I think he can develop into a solid backup that can fill in for an injured starter and for a 6th round pick that isn't bad. He has above average arm strength but it won't blow you away. Can make plays with his feet and is pretty accurate in the short passing game. Also you don't have to worry about him having a drug problem :whistling:

Meh.... it was a BPA pick which means that they are down to drafting practice squad players. There is no way that he is even thought of as a potential primary backup.

I don't know about that. It's not like the guy has to knock off Tom Brady. We're talking Chad Henne here.
Showcase him in preseason games and hope he does well enough to garner trade interest from QB-hungry teams

I get that your juvenile mind doesn't like Chad Henne. However, put this draft pick up against ANY starting or backup QB in the league and it's not even close.
Another Allen brother. Is Jack Allen next?

My only problem with the pick is you can't showcase him in the preseason and stash him on the practice squad. In fact, with a QB you probably can't stash him on the practice squad at all, which means he takes up a roster spot, which means we are carrying 3 QBs on the active roster, which I am not a fan of at all.

Dude, there's no need to get personal.

Thanks.
I noticed from his highlights that he doesn't throw short consistently like a Henne, Bridgewater or Mariota. He prefers throwing over 20 yards downfield consistently, and can throw a decent 40-yard strike if necessary. He may not have a 65-yard hail mary in him, but he's very proficient in that mid-to-deep range.

I'm not getting personal here. I'm sorry, were you "triggered" by my above comment?
As I said before, put him up against ANY starting QB or primary backup in the league and it's not even close. The bottom line is, he's practice squad material at best.
