Alualu is not bad like people think. He sets the edge. He is just a player that does things that don't show up on the stat sheet.


Like on stunts and twists...he is the guy that "reaches" so the end can get a free lane at the QB.

Tenn played Marks as a Nose Tackle, if that's what you're referring to.

No doubt, that is what I was referring to. And a guy with that body type and their traits, Day will be good.

I can totally see the young, up-and-coming Michael Bennett beating out the general waste of roster space that is Alualu.

This could be determined by age and contract situation.  Also, Bennett was a rookie last year and rookies usually take their biggest jump between year 1 and 2.   And, Bennett is a Dave pick while Alualu comes from the Gene Smith picks.

I believe it has been mentioned before that Bennet has a very narrow role on this team. For a depth player, I would not call that an advantage. He might beat out Alualu, but I don't think it is clear cut at this point.
