Why because he's a talent we can't pass up.. Teams like cowboys ravens will snatch him up before we do that's why.. Is it worth the risk though.. That's the only thing keeping Dave Caldwell back.. Can he trust Noah.. I think tomorrow is gonna get interesting.. Lots of trades coming ext..
Also I could see martin being an option..
No need to trade up for him. He has no bend and isn't worth the wasted draft picks.

if he's there would u take him at pick 38..
No....
Fat Blackmon

First, I never thought Ramsey would be there at five. Thanks Jerrah.

We have many options open to us at 38.

DT:     Reed, Bullard Robinson, Spriggs, Billings.

DE:     Dodd, Spense

LB:   Jack, Cravens, Calhoun, Ogbah, Ragland, Brothers, Fackrell

I did lump OLB, Hybrids here, but it shows a boatload of opportunities.

All that being said, it is the Darft and if Dave feels the need to trade up, do it.

I think Jack falls to us at 38 or we go up and get him after swapping 2nd RD picks and giving up a 4th and 6th.

Yes...lots of good talent left on the board, especially surprising are some of the pass rushers.

I am hoping for Dodd to be a Jaguar.
Na.. i thought about it tonight and the only guy I could see GM Dave Caldwell really trading up the 38th overall (probably having to give up a 3rd or a 4th to do it) is if it was a guy like Reggie Ragland or Myles Jack or Alexander.

I think a guy like Noah Spence, kevin Dodd, some good pass rusher they are very close on boards will be there..

Much as I like the idea of Dodd or Spence or Jack at 38, I don't think we should ignore Reggie Ragland.   I know he's kind of a clone of Poz, but there are a lot worse things, and he's considered one of the best linebackers in the draft.   Plus, Poz isn't getting any younger.

If Spence is there at 38 I'd take him for sure. That being said if Jack is still there I'd take him as well.

I don't see us moving up when there are a lot of good players that we'll have a choice of.
Dave has shown the ability and willingness to trade up in the past, to good result (A-Rob, Linder). If he does again, great. At the same time, if he doesn't it isn't due to timidity but to the feeling that a good player will be there for us at 38. I am OK with that. Having gotten a player I didn't expect to be there already, I am content to just watch what happens for the rest of the draft. I wouldn't mind seeing a good offensive lineman or an edge rusher, but as long as it isn't a kicker I think I will be OK with the pick.

If he could get the Cleveland pick AND keep ours this round, he could get MIles Jack AND Ragland/Spence/Ogbah...that would be sooooooooooooooooooooo pimp

Yeah, well as long as we get a LB or pass rushing DE, I think I'll be happy.  Spence has some off field stuff that makes hims a risk...  Jack has his knees...

I like Dodds measurables...  Him and Spence are pretty close on most combine results, but Dodd is 3 inches taller.  I don't know why, but i like that, even though, with a pass rushing DE, that might not be the most needed thing...

Not with lack of Jags pass rushing depth. It is difficult to find quality rushers in 3rd round or later. You can find servicable LBs for your system in those rounds though.
If Dave can trade a 6ths plus the 4th to move into the later parts of the 2nd then yes. We have a good shot at getting a DE and a LB before the 2nd round even comes to a close.

I would take Spence or Jack at 38 and possibly trade back up into the 2nd for Nick Martin

Maybe I'm just imagining this, but it seems like this second round has more "first round" level players available than most years.  Might be a good year to trade up and have two picks in the second.

No, I think you're right.  The top of this draft was a little sparse on elite talent (only a few guys) but after that there's a good amount of talent in those 2nd, 3rd, and 4th tiers.
