The German has impressed several teams with his incredible Pro Day results (see link below) while very few see him going in the 1st round, a few think that he could go as high as the 3rd round in the NFL draft. A guy barely even known to the rest of America a year ago. A true diamond in the rough as he needs work on his routes, and hasn't gone against U.S.A. College skilled corners but his measurables, drills, and video tape show a guy that could make a name for himself in the NFL in his first year!

Nothing earlier than the 6th no one will take that much of a gamble on a player
You guys are drafting players directly from Europe now? Not long until we take over :pirate:

I am thinking more like Summer Olympics 2020, you down?
Moritz Boerhinger has another “first” to add to his list of accomplishments: He’s the first draft pick to sign a contract in 2016.
He was drafted by his favorite team (which led him to pursue Football when he watched AP run on youtube), the Minnesota Vikings.
A great story, I really hope the guy has success in the NFL. Who knows maybe other athletes from other countries will have similar luck. I feel it is great for the sport of Football (American) because if you look other sports such as Baseball (many foreigners especially from Cuba), Hockey (All around the world people come to play in the NHL).
Pulling for him to be what Matt Jones was supposed to be.
But I am still lukewarm on Teddy.
Looks like he's playing against a local high school team.
He'll get cut by the Vikes.
I'd say he'll spend all year in the practice squad ,maybe the next two years. The level of play he was against would be easily beaten by a division 3 college.

From North Dakota. Florida HS teams would probably be a big test for him.
I like the dude because he's german, but he will be playing against the best athletes in the world (specifically CBs). If he does stick in the league, it'll be because of the Vikings patience in developing him, which will probably take as long as his contract goes.
I'll be rooting for him.
Aside from QB, experience in the NFL is almost irrelevant. If you have the natural size, speed, strength, etc... you can walk on to the field and within a couple years be a very good player. Whether it be guys making a position switch (especially QBs moving to WR) or guys never even playing college ball, we've seen too many examples of guys with little experience making an impact. Raw athleticism means more in the NFL than any other sport.
This guy is 6'4, 220+ ran a 4.4 with a near 40 inch vert. The guy has natural athleticism. Question will be if he has the lateral quickness and acceleration to create separation. And if not can he use his size to block out the defender.

It is possible any 6th round or later pick is similar to an undrafted free agent in fighting for a roster spot, while most teams have open competition some make those players prove it more (IMO).

Shows him as at the bottom on the WR depth chart.
Vikings signed sixth-round WR Moritz Boehringer to a four-year, $2.49 million contract.
He's the first rookie to sign his contract. Last year's No. 180 overall pick, Jaguars DT Michael Bennett, inked a deal worth a little more than $2.418 million. Incredibly athletic but lacking honed football skills, Boehringer will be a fascinating player to watch this summer and in preseason games. May 2 - 9:02 PM
Quote:Viel Glück für ihn.
I wish him luck too, I'll be rooting for him to make it in the NFL.. sad that the Jaguars didn't get him.
Anyone notice they jumped the Jags for him?
I wonder how much of the pick was about marketing and selling the Vikings to the (reasonably sized) German market. And it probably makes more sense for them than any other NFL franchise, with all those German/Scandanavian types living in their little igloos there.
But it's hard not to wish the guy well - he's grown up a Vikings fan and looked genuinely delighted to be drafted by them.

In favor of who??
They got Stefon Diggs and then..........................?
Bet on MoBo making their roster

He wouldn't be able to get open against the UNF intramural flag football team.

I'd say a large part of it was, especially with the way they had Mayock "ringing" Zimmer about the pick. Seems like they were the only team he was going to go to.
