Quote:How in the heck did Stanley jump Tunsil as the top tackle in the draft the final week of mock season? Is it because this stuff with Tunsils dad?

And injuries. Tunsil hasn't had a full season.

Remember Bridgewater was the #1 pick for the longest time during mock season? I love mock season.
Quote:I'm here in Dallas.  The sport guys keep interviewing 3 people.  Ramsey keeps saying on interviews he is the best player in the draft.  Not sure the Cowboys will pass on him.  It does make sense the mock shows running back.  The media here is talking up running back just like the comments posted on that mock.

Zeke would be looking like Tony Dorsett behind that line in Dallas.
I'm good with it.

I was big on Jack being our guy at 5... but smokescreen or no smokescreen, I have some concerns, doubts, reservations....

If Ramsey is there at 5... you know what you're getting.

He can play press corner, zone and slot, and free safety (safety net on Gipson signing)

I don't know how Dallas and SD pass on the guy, but if he is there... I'd love the pick.

Stanley is a far better run blocker. He is more powerful at the point of attack and he is an iron man. Tunsil is a riskier pick than Jack. For the team that drafts Tunsil, make sure you have a good backup because that backup is playing in 3-4 games.

Smokescreen or no, they can't take Jack at 5 now. If the knee keeps him out, the Jags administration becomes the laughingstock of the league at the worst possible time in the Dave/Gus era. OTOH, if he's sound, he has to live up to the advance billing of being #5 overall and possibly in the top 2 defensive picks overall or be viewed as somewhat of a bust.

BUT... if they do draft him and he lasts 5 years and then blows his knee, it's a worthy investment, imo.

Agree.  If the worst case scenario played out .......t he potential of Joekel #2 being a bust coupled with Fowler #3 concerns followed by Jack #5 prolonged injury could get the arrow pointing back down again.

5 total years for a #5 pick is not good.
Quote:My only concern with Ramsey is his inability to catch anything

Quote:Ramsey says he wants to play corner though. If we're taking that into consideration, I'm not sure he's the top corner in the draft. They better be sure he's ok coming in and playing safety.

He said later in the same interview that he'd play wherever the team wants him to, he just wants to play ball.  Referenced that he moved all over when asked in College, so he's already used to it.

Basically, his preference is outside corner, but it didn't show any signs of being THAT worried about it.

As for this "Ramsey can't catch" stuff... Hyperbole.   I could see if you were saying it about Alexander, who had exactly 0 picks in college, but whatever.  Dude's a playmaker, and he had no issues showing off his hands during his Pro Day.

If Ramsey is there at 5, you better believe Dave and Gus are happy campers.

Considering the busts that get 0 good years from top ten selections...

If we got 5 years of high level Jack, AND didn't have to sign him to a new contract, it would be a win.

In year 4 you draft his replacement.
The worst mock draft i have seen...

You mean the worst [BLEEP] draft you've seen

By picking Stanley and Bosa, of course.

No, we don't know what we are getting with Ramsey. Some people say he is a safety. Others say he is a cornerback. Then there are people who think he should play both positions. There is a lot more uncertainty with him.
Quote:Damn! Lol just noticed that lol

What did it say?

He'd be playing corner here for the next two years or so as long as Gipson is healthy, so it doesn't matter.

Unless you're the Jaguars, in which case, it's great.

There has been some talk Ramsey can also play strong safety if needed there.
