If you guys aren't familiar with the UNC academic scandal, read up on it. It is one of the worst (IMO) scandals of all time that involved decades worth of systemic cheating and funneling players into fake classes. UNC created a major- African American Studies (AFAM) to give them automatic A's and assure those (hundreds and hundreds of) players would not become academically ineligible.

The initial Notice of Allegations (NOA) was pretty damning and most were expecting at least a postseason ban but potentially vacated championship(s).

Yesterday, the NCAA released their revised NOA and totally left out women's and men's basketball. Of course, men's basketball is UNC's cash cow and one of the NCAA's premier basketball program. Omitting them this time is confusing at best and incredibly shady at worst. The NCAA is getting (rightfully) ripped to shreds on Twitter and the media. It is not a good look for them.

"If you'd like to raise a skeptical eyebrow at all of this, by all means, do. The problem with this case always has been a bit unclear. Essentially, the NCAA can only charge a sport with offering impermissible benefits if the benefit isn't made available to the general student population.

Conveniently, everyone -- athletes and nonathletes -- at North Carolina was allowed to commit egregious academic fraud via the African-American studies program for years and years."

UNC - Corrupt

NCAA - Corrupt

They probably should have gotten a penalty equivalent to, if not more severe than, Syracuse
