This whole situation is complete overkill.

From the beginning, the NFL should have just fined them or maybe took away a late round pick. But because it's the Patriots it's magnified 10000x.

I forgot what team the precedent was set for but they caught a team warming up footballs on the sideline and they received a letter and maybe a fine.

"Oh Hockey playoffs and NBA playoffs are in full swing?! BAM... Brady suspension and the draft to steal yo headlines!"

Meh I literally spent 5 minutes reading the story and went back to watching the Heat at Hornets.

Brady and Co. will fight this like they should and win.

welp, I know what's gonna be on nfl network for the next few months.....

Good God will they just put this crap to rest already. It shouldn't take over a year to penalize a team. Very inefficient by the NFL and all those involved.
Blame our courts for getting involved in private business concerns already negotiated and agreed upon previously in the CBA
From the AP:

<p class="">Circuit Judge Denny Chin said evidence of ball tampering was "compelling, if not overwhelming" and there was evidence that Brady "knew about it, consented to it, encouraged it."

<p class="">The league argued that it was fair for Goodell to severely penalize Brady after he concluded the prize quarterback tarnished the game by impeding the NFL's investigation by destroying a cellphone containing nearly 10,000 messages.

<p class="">Parker said the cellphone destruction raised the stakes "from air in a football to compromising the integrity of a proceeding that the commissioner had convened."

<p class="">"So why couldn't the commissioner suspend Mr. Brady for that conduct alone?" he asked. Parker added: "With all due respect, Mr. Brady's explanation of that made no sense whatsoever."

It's not inefficient by the NFL. It's Brady who's causing the delay. The NFL penalized the team quickly, and ruled on the appeal quickly. Brady wanted to use the court system to rule that he's only covered by those bits of the CBA he likes, and that's what has wasted all this time.

If I were in charge, I'd be sorely tempted to look at whether he can be suspended further for bringing the game into disrepute by trying to bypass the CBA in this way.
Suspend Belicheat while you're at it.

The only Cheatriot that belongs in the Hall of Fame is Gronk, asterisk anyone else
Tomorrow's headline: "NFL reduces Brady suspension to 'he has to wash Roger Goodell's car this weekend."

Quote:What?

Justice, mudder trucker, you heard of it?

This is why they drag things out.  People's attention span and ire aren't the way it use to be.  Deny, deny, delay, delay and then play the victim to win.  If he turned over his phone and they actually proved he knew it probably still would have been 4 games bargained down to 2 or something.  Were they going to take away trophies?  Heck no.
Looks like Tawmmy is gonna give Goodell the finga'.

Of course he was going to appeal. Why not?

I'll be surprised if the Appeals Court takes his case. If they don't he can try the Supreme Court (maybe he can hang on and hope for a Trump appointee).

I'll be real surprised if the SC takes it up. Don't they have more important things to do?

He just needs to suck it up and serve the 4 games. It's getting out of hand now.

Why should he? If he maintains his innocence then he's right to defend it by every means.

Only in America can you get away with anything...

Damn that "presumption of innocence" thing.

I read that they offered him a 1 game suspension if he agreed to say the other 2 ball boys were responsible for everything and he was unaware of anything they did, he declined.

Well that's probably a smart move on his part (to decline).

He declined because if he had done so, it would implicate him..  How would he know that it was 2 ball boys "responsible for everything"?  If he admits to knowing that the "other two ball boys were responsible for everything", then how can he be "unaware" of anything that they did?

I'm not a Tom Brady fan by any means, but I do think the man should be given the chance to defend his integrity.

My gut feeling and what I personally think... I do think that he knew about the whole thing.  However, I won't "convict" a man just because of my own personal gut feeling.
