Well, seeing that no one is worried about the short term health with Jack then it seems like he would fit exactly what you want...an immediate impact player.

 

Half a decade from now, who knows maybe he needs microfracture. But maybe not. I would risk it if Ramsey is off the board.

I got to agree.  Can't draft a guy in the top 5 we aren't sure will stay healthy.

<b>WEAKNESSES:</b> Lacks ideal size at linebacker. Does not possess ideal length and can get caught up in the wash. Not an explosive hitter.

Will need to prove the health of his season-ending knee injury that required surgery and will be limited in his ability to impress scouts on the field during the pre-draft period.

 

CBS on Joey Bosa

<b>WEAKNESSES:</b> Not as quick as some of the NFL's elite edge rushers. Not a quick-twitch rusher and doesn't play with consistent explosion. Needs to improve his inside shoulder dip to leverage his body into blockers around the edge.

 

CBS on Jalen Ramsey

<b>WEAKNESSES:</b> Room to add bulk and needs to develop his functional strength to better finish off-balance tackles and disengage blocks. Room to clean up his tackling technique, patience and pad level. Will get run over in the NFL if he doesn't use better lower body bend.

 

CBS on Buckner

<b>WEAKNESSES:</b> Leverage can be an issue at times due to his height. Struggles to recoil and reset himself after his initial move stalls. Still learning how to set up his pass rush sequence and counter moves. Only average snap anticipation.

 

CBS on Tunsil

<b>WEAKNESSES:</b> Room to add more bulk and get stronger. Shows the core power needed when he can sink and square, but not as stout with defenders off his edge.

 

You know I didn't include all the negatives seems that CBS had less bad things to say about Myles Jack than the others...

Jack - under-sized, bad at shedding blocks, poor hitting power, uncertain health issues.


Bosa - Above average speed, consistency issue, needs more bend.


Ramsey - needs to add muscle mass, clean up tackling/ block shedding, learn to use leverage more.


Buckner - Needs to use size to advantage, if first move fails usually gets held up, needs to learn moves and counter moves, slow reaction time, and below average speed.


Tunsil - Add more muscle mass, edge rushers sometime get the best of him.



Okay these are the Main Points out of all those words. If you were to just go by who has the least weaknesses you'd definitely would say Tunsil.


If you really sit there and think, there's truly only 3 people we should draft out of these 5.

Bosa have above average speed, where?? Lol he ran a 4.86 - 4.9 40yd dash.. Thats pretty slow for the nfl..


Ramsey needs to bulk up why again? He play Cb! How bulky are Wr?


Jack is undersize but so was Telvin Smith and how did he do?


My point is there are always gonna be somebody's opinion of what players weakness are.. You dont let that keep you from drafting a player... Coaches gotta watch the tape..


As for Jack if hes cleared and healthy u draft him... 100% Healthy players get drafted all the time and get hurt during the off season and miss significant games.. Fowler per say... You just cant control things like that anyway.

I'd give Bosa 4.8 flat he plays faster than his 40 time, he does truly have a above average speed compared to edge rushers weighing the same.


Some might say he could even play Skuta's role.


I cant wait to say I was right about Jack. Your all fanboys of him and it is sickening.

Translation: I have no basis for an argument on Jack so I'm throwing poo at the wall to see if it sticks.  If it does I'll rub it in your face.

No, but here's some arguments for that:

 

1. We don't just have Joeckel, we have Beachum who looked pretty darn good before his injury.

2. Correlate successful teams with their left tackle and you'll see that teams are skating by just fine at that spot.

3. Tunsil isn't a better college prospect than Joeckel was.  And it's not like there is ever a "sure thing" in a draft.

 

I'm not saying I'd disown the team or even been extremely upset if we did take him, but I don't see that we will.  Dave is a needs drafter and we have bigger needs than LT.  Probably the only way I see it going down is if Tunsil is his highest rated prospect, Beachum will be ready to play week 1, and we kick Parnell inside to guard with Tunsil at RT.

MMQB has us trading down to 15 with Tennessee, with them taking Tunsil and us taking LB Floyd.  We also get their pick #33 overall.

 

I could live with that.  With 2 high picks in Round 2 we could grab a DE and a Center or Guard early on Day 2. 

Bosa sucks

Based upon my highly untrained eye, here's how I rank the top defenders in the draft based on cutups:


1. Jack

2. Buckner

3. Ramsey

4. Bosa


That's the order I'd take them in. Bosa just doesn't look like he can get off blocks to me.

In all honesty I believe Noah Spence is the best pass rusher in this draft, outshining Bosa when he was at Ohio, without character concerns id have no doubt he would be our pick.


I feel Buckner cant get off blocks either he plays awkwardly and seems his height somewhat hinders him, if his first move fails to me it looks like he can never get past the oline.


If Ramsey and Tunsil/Jack/Elliot(dal) are gone our pick will be Hargreaves or Bosa.


Dave plays his guy/guy's close to his chest, these two guys you don't hear much about from him and that's where the true interest lies, in what he doesn't say.

Dente Fowler had a clean bill of health before being drafted. Its one of those things. Jack is a once in a generation athlete so its worth consideration.


1.) its up to the team doctors. If they think the knee is sound then you trust the doctors.


2.) in jacks case you have a greater landing area. By that I mean that his natural athleticism was freakish. They had the guy playing corner against first round receivers. If the guy looses a step and runs 4.52 instead of 4.37 that's still elite. He's still going to be able to blanket the backs and tight ends at this level

Yes. Take Jack. We can bulk him up a little and teach him to hit with more power. Him and Telvin on the same field as fast as they both are...
