Quote:I feel like we need to within the first 3 rounds. Cann/Linder can play it but that seems more like a back-up plan.
If Kelly somehow drops to the Jags in round 2, I could see it; otherwise no. I could see a guard in rounds 3-5, however. Linder should be fine at center. Bowanko is also a capable backup.

I hate the idea of taking our best lineman and moving him to a different position ugh

It's what Dave and Gus think that counts. I answered what I think they think.

I'd rather keep Linder at RG as well.

But what if Linder is as good at center as he is guard? That's a more important position.

You make a good point. But the right side of our line was not good in pass pro. Parnell ranks at the bottom of the pile.

It seems like every time I think of the ideal combination of 1st and 2nd picks, the second pick is Ryan Kelly. Myles Jack/Ryan Kelly, Joey Bosa/Ryan Kelly, Jalen Ramsey/Ryan Kelly. No matter who we pick with our first pick, it would be so great to pair that pick with Ryan Kelly. Ryan Kelly seems to fill the one hole on our offense.

For our Oline if Kelly isn't there then second choice would be Garnett at G who could help us with the running game or talking about another C then Boehm who was also at senior bowl with Gus.
We'll see, obviously Kelly would be the first choice by a good margin, we could be set at C for years with him and would be great to have a Linder-Kelly-Cann interior Oline.

I keep going back to all the Alabama games I saw last year, and the numerous times I saw Derrick Henry running through a huge hole in the middle of the line. No one watches the center, and I'm no exception, but when you keep seeing this gigantic running back who isn't meeting any defenders until he's beyond the line of scrimmage, SOMETHING has to be happening in the middle of that offensive line.
I'll leave it up to the scouts to look at the tape and see what Ryan Kelly is doing in the middle of all that mess, but it just seems like, geez, we could use some of that.

Ryan Kelly in round 2 or a guard in round 3. I would hate to see the offense held back due to Joeckel being a failure at guard. Have to protect Bortles.

I would be a fan of trading up for Kelly too. What would it take to trade up into the twenties? Our 2nd ,5th ,6th and 3rd next year?

As in our 2nd ,5th and 6th this hear and 3rd next year.Is that too much? To move from 6 to 20 something.

Yea agreed, i thought Parnell was pretty solid. Started strong, struggled mid-season and finished strong. The left side of the line, thats a different story.

There's one center in this draft capable of starting in the near term; there are many guards. Center is the more important position and makes lines calls. I see the idea of sliding Linder to center and finding a good guard is a better option than Kelly. The best use of the top two draft picks should be on defense.

It's too much for a Center.

Quote:It's too much for a Center.5th and 6th this year dont really matter, this draft kinda sucks and i doubt who we pick then will be any more than a an average backup. Our roster doesnt need to prioritze guys like that over a guy whos seen as a perennial quality starter. And we still got rd 1/3/4 for D.
