It is true

Been saying it for years. Derrick Harvey cemented that theory.
Someone should alert Joe Haden.

Based on that, Ramsey and Hargreaves are pretty much in the same boat as far as bust potential. Bosa would be the safest pick.

Bosa in the first

Artie Burns (CB MIA) in the second

Joshua Perry (LB OSU) in the 3rd

KJ Dillon (SS WVU) in the 4th

Safe schools and talent too.

Except that Ohio St. doesn't produce many quality DEs and Miami doesn't produce many quality CBs.
Florida players are over drafted.

Not really their fault.

Joe Haden was pretty good.

Fowler (we hope) will be pretty good.

Tebow was way over drafted and had he not been attached to a circus and was drafted in the 3rd of 4th round, could have developed and wouldn't have been a big bust.

Fred Taylor was pretty good.

I mean... c'mon.

Hmm.. I didn't know each school had to be a position factory.

You get players where you get players. All this other stuff is hocus pocus trends.
Emmitt Smith

Fred Taylor

J. Kearse

J. Haden

That's just to name a few of the many solid players. Yes, there are many that "bust". But there have also been alot of top quality players from that school.

Heck, even recently, Carlos Dunlap and Reggie Nelson have been very good in Cincy for a while.

Spikes

Pouncey

etc,,etc

I don't argue that each school has to be a position factory.

My point is that it's odd that powerhouse schools like these that tend to produce numerous NFL caliber players at most positions, for whatever reason, don't produce players at those positions (Ohio St-QB, DE; Miami-DE & CB; Penn St. DL, DB, )

As a general rule, the schools you listed tend to be good sources of NFL talent.
Fred Taylor turned out fine

Yep, once a decade or so they actually turn out a good one.

I'd take Peter Warrick and Andre Wadsworth any day over those dudes. :woot:

It is true

Given the fact that FSU is ranked #4 on that list and actually has more busts than UF, I guess we need to stay away from Jalen Ramsey as well.
He's a nickel back who's another Gator bust.

As a Noles fan i must say to tread lightly with htis article. Perhaps the 1st round picks from Florida have been bust, yet there are some good players out of UF still in the NFL. Florida is not a top program at this moment of time, so they have less first round players.

I didn't want Adrian Peterson because Brian Bosworth (the Boz) was a bust.

Imagine the idiotic team drafting Payton Manning after the Vols placed these players into the 1990 NFL Draft. STAY AWAY FROM VOLS !! Bust City !!

Player Position Round Pick NFL club Charles McRae Tackle Round 1 Pick #7 // Tampa Bay Buccaneers Antone Davis Tackle Round1 Pick #8 // Philadelphia Eagles Alvin Harper Wide Receiver Round 1 Pick #12 Dallas Cowboys

I kind of need to see the actual numbers to determine what they call a bust.

Both Jenkins and Haden are solid NFL CBs and both played for UF. Reggie Nelson is now a pro bowl caliber player evidently.

I think these numbers are skewed by some offensive players who were drafted high but were in fact a product of the system they were in. Especially the QBs.

I am a UF fan but even I was screaming "Noooo" at the tv when I saw us take Harvey. That guy took plays off all through college. Bad call by clean Gene.

I think it's mostly "pedigree"
