I can't disagree with you there. He certainly was a very talented man.

Quote:I liked those two chicks from the cream video... those two got me through some lonely times in high school...
Quote:They were talking about that performance this morning on The Dan Patrick Show, of all places. Apparently Prince didn't know While My Guitar Gently Weeps, so they sent him the music the day before. Then he comes on stage and owns it. I loved the end, when he tosses his Telecaster up in the air and walks off, and the guitar never comes back down.It was truly amazing. The thing that stuck out to me about that particular guitar solo was how effortless he made it look. Just grinding away and totally effortless. I didn't know the bit about him not knowing the song, makes it even that much more amazing.
What a showman.
Quote:I know he sings purple rain but I have no idea what the songs about? What the heck is purple rain?
Quote:When there’s blood in the sky - red and blue = purple.. purple rain pertains to the end of the world and being with the one you love and letting your faith/god guide you through the purple rain

Quote:In the video, starting around the 4:00 mark until that great walk-off, you can see the joy he got from that performance. That will my lasting image of Prince.

Quote:No I didn't know there was a movie?
Quote:Purple Rain is a pretty good movie. Some people may not know that all of the songs performed in that movie by other bands/artists were written by him. It leans more towards the pop/funk side of his music. It's a pretty good story, even if you aren't in to that genre of music. It's arguably the best poorly acted movie of the 80's.
