At one point he was mocked to go 1st on almost all draft boards. Now people are mocking him as low as TB. Most mocks have him out of the top 5 at this point. Im not that high on pff but if you believe anything from them they had No. 1 in the nation in 2014 among edge defenders, No. 2 in 2015, No. 1-ranked edge defender (including No. 1 pass-rush grade, No. 1 run-defense grade), 70 total pressures (third-most among edge defenders). Ranked second in pass rush productivity in 2015. Im thinking the reason people aren't as high is because of the sack number he put up this year. Pressure is more important than a sack number especially if you are drawing doulbe and triple teams. This is some of what he brings

Not to mention its in his blood. His Father and Uncle were both 1st round picks. I like Jack but im just as high on Bosa and there are no medical concerns. Hope one of these guys falls though

In short, the only way teams can prevent Bosa from wreaking havoc against their run game or quarterback is to double team him, or somehow assign extra help to his assigned blocker. Left one on one, Bosa will defeat the man tasked with blocking him more often than not.

Bosa may have had a slow start to the year, but don’t be fooled by his sack total. He has been a one-man mountain slide, steaming through offensive lines and laying waste to whatever was in his path for more than a year now. He is a complete defender, able to rush the passer and destroy the run with equal dexterity. He is physically gifted, but also shows extremely advanced technique and an exceptional grasp of fundamentals. This is a man who has a good case to be known as the best player in college football, and will be coming to a field near you in the NFL sooner rather than later — possibly as the first overall pick of the draft.

Completely agree. His combine numbers are phenomenal for his size. He may not wow with his bend, but he is consistent and that is a major plus for a prospect. I think we will have an exceptional career wherever he goes. It's a shame our situation in the LB core is so horrid, otherwise I'd love the pick. Jack wins us the most games next year and I think the fanbase understands that. Passing on Ramsey, Bosa, or Tunsil will be a difficult decision since LB is of lower impact position wise. When all is said and done, we need a playmaker at LB more than any position and the brass knows it.

He is straight outta Fast Times at Ridgemont High

It still seems like everyone has him as part of the big 3 defensive prospects in this draft...so even if they have him behind Ramsey and Jack I don't really agree that that makes him amongst the most underrated players in this draft. On these boards I think Buckner gets that title.

To a point I agree, he is being overlooked. However like KY said, we are still seing him listed in many peoples top prospects.

I have been surprised to hear the "disappointment" people seem to have regarding Bosa. I would be thrilled if he falls in our lap. He had good numbers at the combine and although I only saw him play a few times at Ohio State, i always thought he was around the ball. I think Bosa is going to be a really nice player.

I think so to a certain degree. It seems to happen every year
Reminds me of Jared Allen. If he is close to that standard he is worth the pick.

part of me thinks Bosa has the highest likelihood of being a perennial all-pro.

may not have a super high ceiling like Ramsey or Jack, but I think his floor is also higher. High floor with a relatively high ceiling at a premium position... I wouldn't be mad not all if we got him.

I don't think he's being overrated on this board. He's constantly one of three always mocked to us.

As an aside, wasn't his Dad a bust?
I also think him not having a perceived upside and kinda being a finished product out the gate takes away from him in some peoples minds
"I think I bring the best pass-rusher, the best defensive lineman in the country." - Bosa said. Joey Bosa played in a 4-3 scheme at Ohio State and would work well in Gus Bradley/Todd Wash's defensive scheme so the question is why no love for Joey?

A couple knocks on him was that some felt he didnt perform that great (compared to what they had expected) at the combine & some say he's more effort that gifted athlete... I think they over think things sometimes.. to me the video tape & scouts watching him during a game is way more valuable than how he did at one pro day workout or combine...

I just dont really like his character. Hes from Florida and doesnt know where Jax is. He looks like a bad dude, he is a horrible speaker. He played under Urban Meyer which doesnt exactly produce good people. Character plays a huge role and I have to say I dont like it at all.

Marks says he has a desire to stay healthy, with Jackson playing inside (DT) and a healthy Marks back with NT Miller the need for Buckner at DT is a bit lower (unless you see him at DE)

I would say if Jalen Ramsey is there he's the guy otherwise it probably will be Myles Jack..

His great grandfather was Tony Accardo a.k.a former Chigago Mob boss and Al Capones body guard.
4/15: "Jalen Ramsey says most interest from Chargers, Cowboys, Ravens, Jags." - Ed Werder, ESPN

If Ramsey isnt there at 5 which I doubt he will be since Chargers, Cowboys both want to draft him & Ravens might even trade up to get him...

That leaves Bosa, Buckner, or Myles Jack as Jacksonville wants to address front 7 over DB (except if Jalen Ramsey is there).

4/9: Jalen Ramsey is the top player on Dallas' draft board. Carson Wentz is in the top three. - Tony Pauline

4/16: The Cowboys are not interested in Myles Jack. - Jon Machota, Dallas Morning News

4/17: "Jared Goff working out for Cowboys a pretty good indication the Rams have not told Goff he's their guy." - Eric Edholm, Yahoo
Wentz is first off the board, Ramsey will not go past Cowboys but small chance could draft Goff (trade up) as Chargers might trade down
to secure Jalen Ramsey at 4 if Cowboys took Goff at 3 but now with Cowboys also wanting Ramsey it would probably be a ruse to secure him before Chargers..
All signs point to Cowboys wanting Ramsey bad...

4/18: The Eagles, 49ers and Jets are potential trade partners for the Browns. - Adam Schefter, ESPN

Everyone is assuming that the 49ers, Jets & Eagles want to trade with Browns for QB but it could also be for Jalen Ramsey...

If the Browns don't draft LT Tunsil and trade out of it.. 50/50 chance a team trading up drafts Goff or Ramsey.. either way.. Chargers or Cowboys would take him...so unless Jaguars trade up (very unlikely) i guess it is very safe to say Jalen Ramsey is out of the works for Jaguars...

making Myles Jack or Joey Bosa the most likely draft choice for Jaguars... all signs whether you like or not seem to point to Myles Jack (for now...)

Walter Football compares him to Ryan Kerrigan which isn't that bad either.. watch the video at the bottom... could you imagine a guy that can totally change a game by getting to the QB on 3rd downs?

Who knows even if Fowler Jr is healthy he might get suspended, and the team needs a real edge pass rusher....

You know how Allen Robinson/Hurns broke records last season.. and people were like finally Jacksonville has WRs because for 10 years they werent even getting over 1,000 yards...

well the same thing with pass rush.. the team hasn't had a player get over 10 sacks in a year (which most teams in the NFL have) in over 10 years..

Joey Bosa could be that guy (even if he doesnt do it in his rookie year, he might in his 2nd)...

I think he's going to be a bust. This is probably just ignorance on my part, but from the videos of games available, I just don't see that eliteness from him. If we do draft him, I hope I'm eating my words come September and beyond. But for now, I have very little confidence in him for us. Even with Jack's injury, I still would go with him. His tape shows explosiveness into blockers, the ability to cover TEs and the slot, always near the ball with great instincts, and seems to have a good head on his shoulder. But until next Thursday, we're all guessing away..........

GO JAGS!!

When was the last time he was mocked #1 overall?

I wouldn't say he's the most underrated player in the draft. Him and Buckner are pretty close to each other. IMO, both guys are geared to play 3-4 DE or a 5-tech position and I don't know anyone that's saying there's anyone else rated higher than them at those spots. I'd argue that for a LEO/Edge there are better guys, but I don't think that's underrating Bosa.
