Depends on the offer.

Take Jack, no question.
Bosa will be a nice player. Jack is an elite talent.

No one is trading up for a linebacker and a DE who is not seen as an elite talent.

Bosa scares me. Take Jack or make the deal.

If the deal was like Eagles 7th overall, next years 1st and 2nd, as well as this years 2nd & 3rd round I think you take the deal.. You could always those to trade up higher in the 2nd round or try for another first round pick next year (as currency like the Titans GM had said), unless your scouts tell you that Bosa is JJ Watt or some kind of huge evidence why not to make the deal..

Okay, how about this scenario?
The first 4 picks are Wentz, Ramsey, Buckner, and Tunsil.
The 49ers are on the phone offering picks 7, 68, and 105 for our pick 5.
They won't tell us who they want to pick at #5.
Take the deal or not?
Would it make a difference if they said they were going to take Goff?

Under that scenario, Jack and Bosa are still on the board.
Even if Baltimore took one of those guys, we'd still have the other. In most non trade scenarios, most Jaguars fans would be okay with one of those guys.
But there would be a chance that both may still be on the board after Baltimore picks, given the huge need at LT they have.
If we wound up getting a guy we would have wanted at 5, but picking up an extra 3rd and 5th round pick, it's worth the risk.
That said, I don't think the first four picks unfold in that order, because Dallas has zero need for OL.

I really does depend upon the offer. However, if I were Caldwell, I would likely stay and take whoever of Bosa/Jack that I thought was the best player for this team. I don't think I would want to miss out what people consider the elite player(s) in the draft. This team has done a pretty good job of filling holes in the offseason, but still needs more playmakers.

There was an article on cbssports that mentions concern about the long-term prognosis of his knee (it talks about Jaylon Smith too). I didn't really think it was an issue. If he ends up having knee issues that derail his career after 4 or 5 seasons he wouldn't be worth a top 5 pick. The Jags better be spot on with their medical assessments on him.

The suspense is killing me... can they just make the draft tomorrow already..

Tunsil. Control the OL of scrimmage.

Yeah. I am not "Anti-Bosa". I just feel like Jack is a better talent.
Say the first four picks are Wentz, Tunsil, Ramsey, Jack and the team takes Bosa. It would make sense. I think he is going to be a pretty solid player. Just not sure he elite potential. Jack does.

I'm starting to think Bosa will be the pick. He's healthy, productive, from a top program, at a position of need. Ready to plug right into the rotation at LEO.

Yes, but what is he going to be like in the post-Roid era?

DE's have a higher ceiling in general and the franchise has lacked a premier DE in decades.
That being said, DE's are harder to find and are highly dependent on the system. I think the smart and safe move is to draft Jack unless you get a great offer. He's got a great ceiling and floor.
LB's play more snaps than DE's. This defense needs better players making plays. Jack gives them a better chance to improve. Even if Bosa is a great fit (I don't think he is for our LEO), we still need many pieces.

If Carson Wentz and Jared Goff go in the top 2 spots, which is a very realistic possibility, it wouldn't surprise me if one or more teams at least think about trading into the pick # 5 spot for Paxton Lynch. Even if most NFL people believe that Lynch doesn't warrant being taken in the # 5 spot, the demand/ need at the QB position could lead to a team like the 49ers, Eagles, or Jets to make a bold move. Though it's a different team brass, the Jets traded up from # 17 to # 5 with the Browns in 2009 for Mark Sanchez.
