Assuming there isn't any serious off the field issues, and his health checks out. It'd be a nice waiver pickup for the Jags

Patriots waived DT Dominique Easley.
Wow. This comes as a shock. Even though Easley has ended each of his first two seasons on injured reserve, he's flashed big-time ability in the 22 games he's been active since being the 29th pick in the 2014 draft. Coach Bill Belichick spent much of last summer talking up Easley. Knee problems ended his final season at Florida early and hampered him as a rookie. His 2015 season was cut short in December with a torn quad. There's potentially more to this story. Easley turns 24 later this month and should resurface quickly as long as there aren't any serious off-field issues that have yet to come to light. Apr 13 - 3:43 PM
Definitely should be a priority waiver claim if there are no pending issues that have yet to be made public.
Easley would work well here as he would have plenty of time to get healthy and eased into a lineup with the depth we have at tackle.

It'd be a low risk high upside signing
Saw he's being released because of an off-the-field issue, so I'd wait to see what that is first.
Easley's not likely being released for something minor, but if for some reason it is, I'd definitely take a hard look at him.
Nothing major according to most, sounds like it's about what the Pats wanted him to do regarding getting back and him not agreeing.
Maybe worth a look. But he has done nothing in the NFL and cannot stay healthy. Little reason to believe that will change.
If the Pats just up and cut him, then there's more to the story...stay tuned.

lol who cares
I also read somewhere that he was cut do to some off the field issues
When Belichick gives up on a guy...
Dude is a 23 year old former 1st round pick.
Guaranteed huge off the field issue coming up, most likely Domestic Violence for him to be released this abruptly.
Sounds like what happens to a guy right before he gets suspended by the league.
I have no idea if some kind of discipline is coming down on him. Strange situation for it not to be something of the sort. I remember he was a high character player coming into the league.
He used to be able to rush the hell out out qbs at florida. If he's clean I'd atleast check him out
As echoed by almost everyone else here, if he is clean then take a chance on him.

If Belichick is cutting a first round draft pick, that's a problem. I don't care if it's low risk. If the guy doesn't take his NFL career seriously, he's not going to be a good fit for this roster.
While I think typically bringing these guys in is a bad thing, these are the types of guys that Gus Bradley can try to turn around. The guy is as up beat as they come. It's obvious some Jag players have had issues, but its worth taking a look.
Sometimes a change of scenery makes a world of difference.
