Quote:Again, I'm not trying to position myself as someone who believes mocks are the true fortune tellers, I'm just merely presenting facts. 4/5 last year, and I'm very curious to see what it will be this year.
Yea but who didn't predict that top 4? It was basically set in stone.
Quote:Ahh, I missed that part where he said it was a statistical certainty, and made a 100% guarantee rather than a projection based on the accuracy of prior draft concensus picks. Maybe you could cut and paste it for me?
Try reading the title of the thread.

That is about as certain of a statement as you can possibly get.

Well actually.... It wasn't entirely 2 weeks before the draft. many mocks had fowler going to this skins, he was the heavy favorite after Beasley. Also many mocks had Leonard Williams going to either us or the Raiders. The raiders being a 35% chance of selecting him or Amari. Outside of the top pick it was was a toss up of selections 2-5, with Mariota leading the charge of 65%. But, yes I would agree that this draft is more challenging to predict. Let's see how it turns out.

The top 2 were pretty much set.  But I dont remember anyone saying Fowler was a lock at our pick.  It could of been Cooper or Williams as well,

last years mocks mean nothing imo but I think he was just trying to get a percentage on what picks the majority get right

Yeah, I read the title before reading the thread .. and again, since you mentioned it. Your read seems to be different from mine and others. No biggie, was just wondering if I had missed something someone had posted. My read was more of a 'based on statistics, Jack will be a Jag. It is about 80% probable". Again, not saying the OP used those exact words, just that that was the kind of read I got. Likelihood, not certainty.
Hypothetical scenario.

Lets say the Jags are on the clock at 5.  Myles Jack is there but also the top two QBs.  Teams are scrambling to jump ahead to get their QB.   A very sexy offer comes in for the Jags.  Do we take it or is Myles Jack so good he should be the pick anyway?

Depends on what the offer is.

Definitely depends on what the offer is.

If someone is giving us a ransom then maybe but Jack would be a huge upgrade at MLB for the next 10 years.

There are no percentages in the title. It says based on statistics Myles Jack will be a jag. Basic English and written by the OP.

That's about a straight forward as it gets. When you make a definitive statement like that, be prepared for people to point out the fallacy. Pretty simple stuff.

Great you've made your point, now move on

You're the one who made the ignorant statement. Maybe you should move on and quit making threads.

Karl Popper say hi, BTW.

(Not really, he wasn't quite as much of a simple falsificationist as that Ninja )
