If Blaine Gabbert was so great why are teams trying to trade up for Wentz or Goff, but since the Denver trade fell thru (if 49ers stick with Colin) many teams need a QB (Eagles, Denver to name two)..
dont see them calling up SanFransico....
just sayin..

Cause maybe Gabbert isnt for sale lol. Why trade a cheap semi reliable backup especially when youre in a position to take a rookie and may need something to fall back on.
Gabbert aint [BLEEP] but a backup dont get me wrong but id much rather keep him around, Kaep is the odd man out not him.
Wentz and Goff aren't more intriguing answers at the QB position than Gabbert? Lost a lot of respect for Bucky Brooks with that one.
Goff isn't all that. Wentz needs a lot of work.
Gabbert was both of these things, yet with NFL experience.
You could take Gabbert "as is," with experience, vs ending up with the same guy after you've invested several years.
Again... pretty sad, but true.
You pretty much know what Gabbert is. He improved last year but will never be a top QB. You dont know in what you have with Goff, Wentz and Lynch. A lot of people sleeping on Lynch imo.
Honestly, he looked considerably better last year than he ever did here. I'd take him over Kaep. Haven't watched a single snap or Wentz or Goff if I'm being truthful though.

Sure Gabbert makes a good solid backup but not an NFL starter.
