Quote:Still not sure on Jacks knee. So unless hes just about 100 percent. I take the trade.
You have no evidence to back up your claim. Athletes get hurt.
Atlanta why not That safety guy.

True however will they be back the same. And do you chance that at 5? Though if him and ramsey on board Jack in a flash.
I mistakenly did not include the Jags original 2nd rounder, as the Real Marty indicated. Hard to believe they'd get three 2nd rounders, but the Rams may be desperate enough for a q.b. to part with both their 2nd's. I'm in agreement that Joseph would be a good choice after Kelly and Correa, however it wouldn't surprise me if Caldwell tries to trade back up into the first round, especially if his first pick is not a pass rusher. If Lawson is gone at 15 and they feel this is too high for Spence or Ogbah, they could take the BAP on defense (maybe Hargreaves drops). Then they trade back up to the 20's to get their pass rusher (hopefully Spence).
If hargreaves drops mid 20s ya run to the podium.

With the injury he had, yes, he'll come back just fine.
This a great philosophical question in terms of draft strategy. Do we as a team with a struggling defense stay at 5 and take an elite, high impact player like Jack or Bosa? Or do we take the trade and stockpile picks and take a good player at 15 while still adding quality players with 3 2nd round picks?
Look at it as
1. Jack
2. Kelly (or any variation of C/G/DE/CB/SS)
Vs.
1. Lawson/Spence
2. Kelly
2. Burns
2. Deion Jones
I've been going back and forth about this and while I would love to add a potential elite player like Jack, I think it would be beneficial long term to add 3 good defensive players and solidify the interior line with 4 picks in the top 2 rounds. We would still have rounds 3-7 to add depth as well.
From a trade value standpoint 15 to 5 is a big jump but 2 high 2nd rounders could be sufficient. I'd like to add some 2017/2018 mid rounders as well just to be greedy.
I would only make this trade if both Ramsey and Jack are gone. While I can see taking Bosa, there are lot of pass rushers in this draft and the Jags can definitely get someone got at 15.
You take this deal in a heartbeat. At #15, it's 50/50 that Shaq Lawson is there; if not, Eli Apple, Darron Smith, or best-available LEO would be need-meets-value picks. Then, two more second rounders could really fortify the defense. Third round could be best available center/guard, like Tretola, to solidify the O-line. I would be ecstatic with a trade like that.
ehhh...it might be a good deal for picks, but who and what ya get for the picks is what counts...I would much rather have one impact player than several serviceable players...we have had serviceable players for years and darn few impact players and it seems every time we get impact players, some want to trade them away...

Well, hell yeah.

That's the real essence of the question right there as you have stated it.
It's nice to think you're getting an elite player at #5, but what if they get injured or they're just not as good as you thought they were? With the 2 extra 2nd round picks, meaning we would then have 3 2nd round picks, you can do a lot with that. You could even double up with Lawson at 15 and Spence with our first 2nd round pick. Then 2 more 2nd round picks after that.
I think I'd take the deal.
