Quote:You can't be sure. As a recovering serial pooper, you never know when you may be triggered into a relapse.

I was on a business trip in Arizona last year, watching TV in my room after a long day at a conference. Next thing I know, a Nutella commercial came on, and boom! Game over.

Suffice to say I am not welcome at the Phoenix airport Marriott anymore.

I'm laughing so hard I can't even contain it.

But could we trade him to the Patriots for Tom Brady?

Quote:Not even D. Hopkins from the Texans? He's long over his days of coating motel rooms with poop.
I see Hopkins as being as good as he can possibly be right now. He's not fast, he's not big, but he gets away with pushing off like crazy. As the Jaguars and Robinson experience more success I expect Robinson to be able to get away with similar levels of unsportsmanlike play.

In a few years he could be challenging Moss's single season TD record if he started committing as many offensive pass interferences without getting called as Hopkins does.

Lol, I sense some bitterness...

What about OBJ then? 27 games for OBJ and 26 for Arob. OBJ has 800 more yards and 9 more TDs. 800 yards and 9 TDs is a very respectable season for any WR, and that's merely the gap between what OBJ and Arob have done in only 1.5 seasons worth of games.

I'm no expert like you, but maybe it has something to do with this:

I wouldn't trade Robinson for any WR at this point. OBJ is good, I won't say he's not. I'd definitely consider him better than Hopkins. The thing is, I'd also expect a guy that played with a multiple Superbowl winning QB and for one of the best offensive coaching minds of the last 30 years to have better numbers than the guy that played for a raw rookie one of his two seasons.

I expect Robinson to be phenomenal, I don't doubt OBJ will be good, too. I also expect that OBJ might actually regress as Eli's career wanes and he loses the firm rudder that Coughlin provides for players.

Add Julius Thomas, Yeldon, Rashad Greene, and Walters as well.
Quote:Umm, he's in the discussion for 5 I think. The top 4 of Antonio Brown, Julio, OBJ, and Hopkins is pretty set at the moment. The second tier that he's in is huge though, with Green, Dez, Demaryius, Sammy, Alshon, and probably even Cooper and Evans. I wouldn't argue with anyone that wanted to put him at the top of that tier.
I think Sammy is gonna blowup next year. Dont know what happened to evans this season but hes got the talent too.

Man that class of receivers is incredible

They said the same about Sammy last year

Add to that the fact that his first season he was playing with a rookie QB.
This is the Golden Age of receivers. Thinking back on the history of the game, there's a handful of great receivers in my opinion.

In today's game, there are a dozen or so receivers that are tremendous.

Jordy Nelson

Dez Bryant

Odell Beckham

ARob

Calvin (obviously just retired but still a modern receiver)

DeAndre Hopkins

TY Hilton

Brandon Marshall

AJ Green

Antonio Brown

Steve Smith

Josh Gordon

Keenan Allen

Demaryious Thomas

Amari Cooper

Sammy Watkins

Mike Evans

Larry Fitzgerald

There's more great receivers in the game now than ever before.

The totally overrated Mike "Drop" Evans does not belong on this list.

Don't forget Brandin Cooks has more receptions, yards, and TDs than any WR in NFL history before they turned 22. He's really darn close to that 2nd tier, if he's not already in it.

The only thing overrated about Evans is the effect drops have. #1 negativity bias producing stat. Bad snaps from centers probably a close second hah.

Read this article from the guy who is generally agreed upon as the top authority on WR evaluation in the business right now.

To think he almost went in the 3rd round (bottom of 2nd)...

huge steal in the draft!

I think he's up there. Not quite top five yet. But certainly in the top eight or ten. Calvin Johnson Jr. is done. Fitzgerald will be out the door behind him probably within the next two years. That really leaves behind the top five in my opinion at the moment.

1. Antonio Brown

2. DeAndre Hopkins

3. Julio Jones

4. Odell Beckham Jr.

5. A.J Green

Allen Robinson can probably tetter in and out of the 4th and 5th spots this year if he keeps it up with Bortles. But the big three have been in the league a bit more and have done more damage to defenses so far. Especially Brown. He's insane. Hopkins' had a ridiculous season despite having four or five different quarterbacks starting for HOU last year. Julio just gets better and better with Ryan each year. I don't like Odell personally but he can play. And A.J Green quietly strings together quality seasons year in and year out with Dalton.

Let teams focus solely on Allen Robinson and stopping him and they will surely get burned by Allen Hurns or Julius Thomas over the middle.

So are we putting ARob over Dez Bryant, Amari Cooper, Demaryius Thomas, Fitz, Jordy Nelson and Brandon Marshall?

Yes.

The only one in that group that I think has an argument would be a healthy Dez Bryant.

Not even an argument for Brandon Marshall and Demaryius?
