Quote: A week-long draft in multiple locations could work.
Not when so many fans are upset with the format changes already.
But then, you do have a point. God-El is more concerned with numbers and his fat wallet than anything the fan has to say about the draft.
I don't think having the same draft in multiple cities would be practical. They would have to rotate the draft among the different cities which would be interesting. If you knew Jax was getting the 2019 draft it would allow each city to put their own spin on it.
The draft should rotate on a 3 or 4 year cycle. 1 year east coast [nyc] then start heading west until it ends in LA. Hit like Chicago or dallas in between.
I think once the amphitheater and practice facility is built then we should be in the top 3 in the draft and scouting combine location discussion.
If and when they get the shipyard approved and completed, I think that's when all of this becomes a reality.
GO JAGS!!
Quote:I think it's a great ideal to hold the draft in different cities every year. But to hold different days of the draft in different cities is just plain silly.
I agree with this one.
I could see the Jags getting day 3 and some people saying how it doesnt matter since its in Jacksonville and its the end of the draft ect.
Quote:Why wouldn't we get another Superbowl? Khan has the stadium near top of the line with all these upgrades. In another 5 years I don't see why we wouldn't be considered
Have you been downtown? It is still the embarrassment it was long before Khan got here. If would take decades to get that area where it needs to be to even be considered for a SB.
The bruise from the 1st SB is still yellow.
London will have a Super Bowl before Jacksonville gets another one. There's just not much to do downtown and no real means of getting around. And I'm not even mentioning the lack of beds for all the folks who will be milling around. If they were to build a shopping district like the town center and add entertainment outside of the dozens of bars on every corner then we can consider it. Maybe once the shipyards project gets rolling we can revisit it again.
Quote:When Goodell visited Jacksonville yesterday, one of the questions he was asked as about the possibility of the draft coming to Jacksonville. In his answer he put forth the idea of each of the draft's 3 days being held in different cities. This seems like a good idea to me. Like round 1 on Thursday being in one city, round 2 and 3 on Friday being in a different city, and so forth. I'm thinking they could even put a day in between to let the people involved move around.
He also talked about the new amphitheater being a good place to hold a draft. Probably just one day of it, I would guess.
I dunno, it was probably his polite way of saying Jacksonville will never get a round 1 lol...
Why not just make it in every NFL City rotate every year so no team gets it twice without it going somewhere else first.
