Vh3 reminds me of a More Polished Joe Haden....... id take that at 5 any day. I also think Jack would end up being the best inside backer in the league sooooooo...... who knows

I like Jack way better. Hargreaves doesn't fit what Gus wants in his corners. I don't know much about Jacks injury but I saw him play before his injury and he was an athletic freak. He played all over the defense and played some snaps at RB. He is versatile and very athletic. Even after his injury his stock is this high for a reason, he is a monster on the field. I hope he runs his 40 time and gets cleared by the teams doctor if not I want Bosa.

Come draft day, I think we will find out his stock wasn't top 5 high

We signed Gipson so we don't need a FS anymore. We aren't going to replace Cyp in the first round.Ramsey will be gone by the time we pick...so I am starting to think we are targeting Hargreaves.

They were talking about Jack's injury to his knee and how teams were shying away because of it.


Brooks said we will pick VH3 and move Colvin inside.


I think with this pick up we can find our OTTO in rounds 2 or 3 and then find a center in 2 or 3 and practically every spot is filled with legitimate starters.


So it looks like VH3 is our guy.

 

I agree especially if we do trade down a couple spots in the draft.


I mean CB is a premium position and this draft Vernon is considered one of the best so drafting him at #5 wouldn't make me sad.  Sure Prince was signed and we have House two solid starters at CB (more of a reason to draft Vernon to give him time to learn without him being burned).  Plus this is a passing league, and you need a shutdown corner to give the line time to sack the QB.

Im worried that his knee isnt healing as fast as expected. So once again get a pick that sits for a year.


I mean if he ready to go sign me up. Signs are not appearing that is the case.

What evidence do we personally have since Gus came to Jax that his corners need to be 6'2" Plus? He likes physical guys who compete. Yes long arms and length. why not try explosion, quickness and polish. cuz whatever we were doing last year at CB aint working!

I mean, House worked and Colvin inside worked. Gratz/McCray failed tremendously at CB2, but Amukamara should help that a ton when healthy.

 

And above all of that was the pathetic pass rush, which Malik, Fowler, and Marks another year off will help quite a bit to begin with...and most likely more influx of draftee pass rushers.

 

So to sum up, we have done a lot to fix what wasn't working last year before even considering the draft. Let's face it anyway, whoever we draft won't help too much this year as we all know how rare it is for rookie pass rushers to contribute greatly.

If he lines up outside, is he playing man against the slot, or is he in zone?

 

With a lesser athlete, that question is not asked nearly as often.  The lesser athlete, I would presume, is put in zone underneath to try to minimize his liability in coverage, or in man he is exploited in coverage, if not taken out of the game in passing situations.

 

With Jack, we could run base personnel in nickel situations.  It would be like having a FS with corner cover skills, only the impact would be felt more in underneath coverage.

The guy on 1010XL yesterday morning (the doctor they have on every Thursday) said Jack's knee should be fine by now and he didn't seem to express any concern about it whatsoever.

Do you have any actual evidence to suggest his knee isn't healing? Or are you just making things up?

I really don't wanna defend teal time because they're generally irrational and don't know what they're talking about but with Jack, the doctors said he would be good to go twice where he hasn't been. That's really all we have to go off of.

But really what does skipping the 40 yard dash even tell us? He did every other drill at his private workout I believe, and he has a whole lot of vines showing him doing very impressive workouts and drills. I don't blame him for skipping the 40 since it's way overrated to begin with, and there is absolutely zero upside to him doing it. He showed everyone the more important drills and supposedly looked great doing it. 

 

So far everyone no one directly involved in the rehab process has shown a shred of worry about how it is coming along so I don't see why anyone else should either.  

Healthy prospects skip the 40 not to hurt their draft stock..so why would a guy coming off a knee injury want to do it? That would just be stupid.

I don't think there's any chance the Jags will invest a 1st or 2nd round pick into the defensive backfield, it's simply lacks logic. They like House, they obliviously like Prince, those two guys will be our perimeter corners, moving Colvin inside to Nickel where he's more comfortable, the defensive backfield looks set, why would they invest the 5th overall pick into a position of strength? The draft = need + value, the only positions that weren't upgraded on the defensive side of the ball in free agency were edge rusher and linebacker, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize these are the positions the Jags will attack early in often in the coming draft. Joey Bosa/Shaq Lawson/Myles Jack are all in play at 5.

Skipping his pro day?

Reading a lot of recent things about him falling out of the first because of size and combine stats.


Is he worth it as BPA in 2nd if he falls, or too outside the scheme?
