I don't care how we get him just make it happen TC
If Thomas is gone by 4 which he most likely will be at this point I want this guy. Even though his arm length doesn't reach the threshold for a LT I still think he could play there. If we put fournette behind this line he's not going to be that successful. A trade back would be optimal and it seems there's going to be some interest in our pick especially if the 49ers and Chicago pass on a QB.
Bacardi and Cola...Do it... Do it

I believe Lamp will be available at 25 - 30, just need to figure out how to trade up to get him.
Fournette may not because successful behind this line this year, but the line can improve in subsequent years.

No. Trade down from #4 and add a 2018 first rounder.

you cant just do this because you want to no matter how much you say it. Someone has to want to trade up.
People act like trading back is always an option. Other teams have to give away picks to move up and it's really not worth it sometimes.

A trade down from 4 to 25-30 should net wwwaaaaaayyyyy more than a single first round pick.
I have no doubt that we will address offensive line in this draft one way or another, but let's not forget that our rushing attack was improved once Gus left. Part of the problem has been the coaching and been the attitude. To run the ball successfully, you need the right attitude. If we don't land Lamp but we end up with another good prospect or two, I'm not calling our rushing attack dead till we see it.
Lol, you guys act like lamp is the best ol to ever play and there won't be decent olinemen in future drafts.
I could get down with Fournette in the first. Trade up a few spots to get lamp in the second, probably would cost us our third. In that case I'd consider Sidney Jones with our fourth rounder, maybe a tight end or more OL depth.

I love the idea of drafting Sidney Jones with our 3rd but I believe he is definitely gone by our 4th.

I feel that Dan Feeney will be there at #35 and he may be just what we need.

Someone will. There is lots of quality at the top of the draft. Some team will inevitably fall in love with a DE, CB, Safety, RB or some other position player and want to get ahead of other teams to get them. Teams always do seem to lock on to one player. We're going to get an opportunity to trade down. It's just a matter of whether we take the deal or not.

For teams that actually are a player or two away and covet one single guy, it is worth it. Unfortunately, we aren't one of those teams. We have several needs, but the better teams in the NFL may feel like they are one elite player away from getting to a superbowl. That probably means trading down to the bottom of round 1 and accepting a 2018 first rounder as part of a trade down, but that's perfect, as far as I'm concerned. Teams with no need for a franchise QB may be willing to part with their top pick next year. Personally, 2018 picks are highly coveted for this team, as far as I'm concerned. Depending on how Blake Bortles performs this year, we may be looking for a new QB. Hopefully not though.

Agreed. I didn't mean to insinuate it would only net a single pick. Maybe we get an additional player (hopefully an O-Linemen) or maybe a 2nd rounder as well. You never know. A team like the Pats or Houston or Pittsburgh or someone else with few needs may feel that they are a player or two away and could be willing to pay a high price to get a player near the top of this draft. At #4, I feel we are in a prime position to trade down. I truly believe we'll be fielding several calls on draft day, maybe earlier.

I didn't see much of a difference with our running game after Gus left. Ivory and Yeldon still stunk. I whole-heartedly believe we need at least a new OG and some much needed depth at both OG and especially a young OT (preferably a guy who can play LT and RT). A new premier RB is also essential. I saw nothing to build on last year when it comes to our rushing attack. I want a complete re-build.

I don't wanna wait until future drafts. I wanna fill our biggest need in
this draft. It's not all about Lamp either. Yes, he's a great player, but I'd be ecstatic with Ramczyk or Feeney as well. We must fix the run game and that means adding run blockers, (which we currently lack.) Why would you even put it out there that we could wait until a future draft to fix the run game? That's not even an option as far as I'm concerned. I don't wanna keep picking at the top of the draft every year, but we will until we make our offense less one dimensional.

It'll cost us a lot more than our 3rd rounder to move up and get Lamp. He's almost certain to go in the bottom of the 1st round. That will likely cost us our 1st round pick in 2018. No deal.

Maybe he will, but at this point, it's highly unlikely.

Does anyone remember that linebacker Gene Smith traded for in a draft-day trade? I just remember Brian Sexton kept saying Gene Smith was a "friggin' genius", and a few years later I can't even remember who he was.
